Job summary

EDGE in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Principal Software Engineer to lead UAV Ground Control Station software design, development, integration and verification. You will drive mission planning, command and control, flight monitoring, telemetry visualization, and payload management within real-time, secure architectures.

You will provide technical leadership in software architecture, HMI/UI, system integration, and automated testing, collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Strong programming in C/C++ and real-time/embedded software development.
• Experience creating UAV GCS software, mission planning, telemetry or control interfaces.
• HMI/UI development and real-time data visualization for operator use.
• ARM/STM32 platforms and RTOS environments familiarity.
• Linux/Windows development environments and system integration expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, integration, testing and maintenance of UAV GCS software.
• Develop capabilities for mission planning, command and control, flight monitoring, and telemetry visualization.
• Lead HMI/UI development for mission operations and real-time vehicle monitoring.
• Integrate autopilots, sensors, avionics, payloads, and communication subsystems with GCS.
• Define scalable, modular software architectures and lead reviews and testing.
