Job summary

Mogi I/O, a UAE-based VAT advisory practice, seeks a seasoned VAT Director to lead the UAE Indirect Tax Advisory. You will own the practice, deliver high-level tax counsel to senior finance leaders, and shape strategy with market development and commercial management.

You will guide engagements, manage client relationships, mentor the VAT team, and drive profitable revenue growth, ensuring technical excellence and practical business solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive practical knowledge of UAE VAT legislation and advisory requirements.
• Proven experience directing technically challenging indirect tax engagements.
• Established relationships or senior-level experience with CFOs, Finance Directors, Tax Heads, and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Direct complex UAE VAT and broader indirect tax advisory assignments across varied industries and business models.
• Provide senior-level advice on VAT treatment, transaction implications, tax risks, operating structures, and compliance considerations.
• Act as a trusted adviser to CFOs, Finance Directors, Tax Heads, and other senior corporate decision-makers.
• Shape and expand the UAE VAT Advisory offering according to regulatory developments and changing client requirements.
• Identify opportunities for additional advisory work within existing client relationships and the wider market.
• Lead major pitches, proposals, engagement scoping discussions, technical presentations, and commercial negotiations.
• Review complex VAT opinions and important deliverables before submission to clients.
• Maintain high standards of technical accuracy while ensuring engagements remain practical and commercially relevant.
• Allocate resources effectively across assignments and monitor delivery schedules, workloads, and utilization.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop VAT professionals while strengthening technical and client-facing capabilities across the team.
• Manage engagement economics including pricing, margins, utilization, revenue pipelines, and profitability.
• Contribute to practice budgets, forecasts, growth objectives, and overall P&L performance.
• Monitor UAE VAT legislation, Federal Tax Authority guidance, administrative developments, and relevant GCC tax changes.
• Assess the business implications of regulatory developments and communicate actionable recommendations to clients.
• Maintain appropriate engagement governance, technical review, documentation, and risk-management standards.
