Job summary

CARBON ENGG in Abu Dhabi is seeking a skilled machinist with proven experience operating manual and CNC lathes to manufacture high-quality metal components from complex blueprints. The role requires reading GD&T, selecting tooling, speeds, and feeds, and performing in-process inspections for dimensional accuracy.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent with vocational machining training and 3–5 years of hands-on lathe experience. NIMS certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Precisely set up and operate manual and CNC lathes to produce metal components according to blueprints and specifications.
• Interpret drawings, schematics, and GD&T to ensure adherence to engineering standards.
• Select tooling, speeds, and feeds to achieve desired material removal rates and surface finishes on various metals.
• Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensional accuracy.

• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure adherence to strict engineering standards.
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds to achieve desired material removal rates and surface finishes on various metals.
• Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensional accuracy.

Desired Candidate Profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational training program in machining is highly preferred.
• Possession of relevant certifications such as NIMS (National Institute for Metalworking Skills) is a significant advantage.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience operating manual and CNC lathes in a manufacturing setting.
• Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols.
