Job summary

EDGE Group in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Thermal System Design Engineer to lead thermal analysis for gas turbine components, including the secondary air and oil systems, across turbojet and turbofan programs. You will apply heat transfer and fluid mechanics expertise, perform simulations in ANSYS Workbench, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate designs and support development milestones.

Qualifications

• Aerospace or mechanical engineering degree is required.
• Strong background in gas turbine propulsion, heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
• Experience: 5-15 years or more in relevant roles.
• Proficient with ANSYS Workbench and CFD/FEA tools.
• Experience with 1D flow software such as Flomaster and Amesim.
• Programming experience in C, Matlab/Simulink or similar.

Responsibilities

• Carry out component thermal analysis simulations for engine mapping.
• Perform steady and transient thermal/secondary flow assessments.
• Size and design oil/lubrication systems, seals, sump, bearings and pumps.
• Develop numerical/experimental methods for verification and validation.
• Support and mentor junior engineers; provide feedback.
• Review designs and tests; develop testing guidelines.
• Identify project risks and plan mitigations.
