Job summary

EDGE Group in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced propulsion performance engineer to develop, model, analyse and optimise the thermodynamic and aerodynamic performance of new production micro turbojet and turbofan engines. You will work with multidisciplinary teams across design, development, testing and service to deliver robust propulsion solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop preliminary engine cycle models and aerothermal methods to support design and performance estimation.
• Maintain steady-state and transient engine cycle models and generate performance decks.
• Translate airframe/engine requirements into performance criteria and design constraints.
• Optimize engine performance cycles to balance thrust and SFC within operating limits.
• Conduct trade-off studies to evaluate impacts from design changes and new component technologies.
• Collaborate with turbomachinery and combustor design teams to meet aerothermal requirements.
• Support engine test preparation by generating performance predictions and test schedules.
• Monitor and support safe engine test execution and provide updates to leadership.
• Analyse engine test data and match it against model data for performance alignment.
• Prepare and present technical reports and design best practices.
