Job summary

Kerzner International's Atlantis, The Palm hotel is seeking a Technician 3, Painter to maintain and enhance painted surfaces across guest rooms, corridors and public areas, delivering luxury standards with minimal guest disruption.

Responsibilities include surface preparation, priming, matching colors, applying finishes, repairing damage, and coordinating with Housekeeping and other departments to schedule work. Strong attention to detail and safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of surface preparation, painting techniques, and decorative finishes.
• Ability to identify paint defects and perform high-quality repairs.
• Familiarity with painting tools, spray equipment, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out painting, repainting, touch-up, and finishing work in Guest rooms, Corridors, Restaurants, Banquet areas and public areas.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling cracks, and applying primers before painting.
• Match paint colors and finishes to existing décor and hotel standards.
• Apply special/decorative wall and ceiling paint finishes.
• Repair damaged walls, ceilings, woodwork, and drywall prior to painting.
• Apply paint, varnish, stains, sealants, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
• Inspect hotel areas regularly and identify painting and cosmetic repair requirements.
• Complete preventive and corrective maintenance work orders within established timelines.
• Ensure work areas are clean, safe, and properly protected before, during, and after maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping, Front Office, and other departments to schedule work with minimal impact on guests.

The Painter is responsible for maintaining the appearance and quality of painted surfaces throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, Front of House, Back of H ouse facilities, and external areas. The role ensures all painting and finishing work meets the hotel's luxury standards while minimizing disruption to guests and hotel operations.

About the Role

• Inspect hotel areas regularly and proactively identify painting and cosmetic repair requirements.
• Complete preventive and corrective maintenance work orders within established timelines.
• Ensure work areas are clean, safe, and properly protected before, during, and after maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping, Front Office, and other departments to schedule work with minimal impact on guests.
• Maintain painting tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition.
• Monitor paint and material inventory and report replenishment requirements.
• Follow all health, safety, fire, and environmental regulations, including the safe handling and storage of paints, solvents, and chemicals.
• Timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.
• Support other maintenance activities as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor .
