Job summary

Ssangyong Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd. in Dubai seeks a Technical Manager (High-Rise Projects) to lead the technical department, manage the design-to-construction transition, and ensure 100% compliance with Dubai authorities.

You will resolve clashes and drive robust engineering solutions for G+50 towers. You will coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP designs in a BIM Level 3 environment, oversee DM/DCD/DEWA/RTA approvals, and lead digital handover to the facility management team,

Qualifications

• 12–15 years of experience in a technical management role.
• 8+ years in Dubai.
• Experience managing the technical design of a G+50 tower from start to handover.
• Expert understanding of DM and DCD approval processes.
• Thorough knowledge of the Dubai Building Code (DBC) and international standards (IBC/BS/Eurocodes).
• Advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360.
• Familiarity with structural analysis software (ETABS, SAFE, or SAP2000).

Responsibilities

• Oversee transformation of Consultant Design Drawings into Contractor Shop Drawings.
• Lead Value Engineering (VE) workshops to identify cost-saving alternatives without compromising safety or performance.
• Ensure all architectural, structural, and MEP designs are coordinated within a BIM Level 3 environment.
• Manage submission and approvals with Dubai Municipality (DM), Dubai Civil Defence (DCD), DEWA, and RTA.
• Stay ahead of the 2026 Dubai Green Building Regulations, ensuring Platinum or Gold ratings.
• Secure No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for high-rise elements like BMU systems and helipads.
• Resolve high-rise specific challenges like wind-loading, verticality control, and façade thermal expansion.
• Oversee MTDS approval processes to meet Dubai’s environmental durability standards.
• Lead the implementation of the 2026 Dubai Unified Building Platform and Digital Twin handover.

Job Title: Technical Manager (High-Rise Projects)

Location: Dubai, UAE

Experience Required: 12–15 Years (Must have led technical teams for G+50 towers)

Role Objective

To lead the technical department in providing robust engineering solutions, managing the design-to-construction transition, and ensuring 100% compliance with Dubai’s regulatory authorities. The Technical Manager resolves complex engineering "clashes" before they reach the site, saving time and preventing costly rework.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design Management & Value Engineering

• Oversee the transformation of Consultant Design Drawings into workable Contractor Shop Drawings.
• Lead Value Engineering (VE) workshops to identify cost-saving alternatives in structural systems or MEP equipment without compromising the building's performance or safety.
• Ensure all architectural, structural, and MEP designs are fully coordinated within a BIM Level 3 environment.

2. Authority Liaison & Permitting

• Manage the submission and approval process with Dubai Municipality (DM), Dubai Civil Defence (DCD), DEWA, and RTA.
• Stay ahead of the 2026 Dubai Green Building Regulations (Al Sa'fat), ensuring the technical specifications meet the required "Platinum" or "Gold" ratings.
• Secure "No Objection Certificates" (NOCs) for specialized high-rise elements like BMU systems and helipads.

3. Advanced Engineering Solutions

• Resolve high-rise specific technical challenges, such as wind-loading on the building envelope, verticality control, and thermal expansion of the façade.
• Oversee the Material Technical Data Sheets (MTDS) approval process, ensuring all materials meet the durability requirements of the 2026 Dubai environment.

4. Digital Transformation & Handover

• Lead the implementation of the 2026 Dubai Unified Building Platform, managing the flow of digital data between the design and site teams.
• Ensure all "As-Built" documentation is accurate and ready for the Digital Twin Handover to the building's future facility management team.

Candidate Requirements

• Education: . Civil or Architectural Engineering.
• Experience: * 12–15 years in a technical management role; 8+ years in Dubai.
• Specific experience managing the technical design of a G+50 tower from start to handover.
• Authority Knowledge: * Expert understanding of DM and DCD approval processes.
• Thorough knowledge of the Dubai Building Code (DBC) and international standards (IBC/BS/Eurocodes).
• Software/Tech:
• Advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360.
• Familiarity with structural analysis software (ETABS, SAFE, or SAP2000).
