Technical Accounting Manager

Job summary

Kitchen Park in Dubai is seeking a senior accounting professional to lead technical accounting and IFRS reporting. You will draft policies, advise on complex transactions, collaborate with auditors and leadership, and guide multi-jurisdictional financial reporting in a fast-growing online food delivery environment.

You’ll work with cross-functional teams and sustain compliance with GCC regulations across the group. This role is based in Dubai and requires onsite collaboration five days a week.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in technical accounting or financial reporting.
• Strong exposure to IFRS standards (IFRS 9, 15, 16, 3, 10).
• Experience drafting technical accounting memos, policies and position papers.
• Big 4 accounting/advisory background preferred.
• Professional qualification such as ACA/ACCA/CPA (or equivalent).
• Ability to work independently and communicate complex issues to non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience managing regional or multi-jurisdictional entities in the GCC is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Draft and maintain global accounting policies, memos and guidance notes.
• Provide technical IFRS advice on transactions (M&A, restructurings, new contracts, debt/equity issuances, JVs).
• Partner with auditors, legal, tax, FP&A and leadership to resolve accounting matters.
• Lead projects related to new IFRS implementations, system changes or reporting enhancements.
• Inform stakeholders about emerging accounting standards and GCC regulations.
• Represent the company in discussions with external auditors and contribute to industry discussions.

What you’ll do

• Own the technical accounting agenda, including drafting and maintaining global accounting policies, memos, and guidance notes.
• Provide technical IFRS advice on transactions (M&A, restructurings, new contracts, debt/equity issuances, joint ventures, etc.).
• Partner with auditors, legal, tax, FP&A, and senior leadership to resolve complex accounting matters.
• Lead and manage projects related to new IFRS implementations, system changes, or reporting enhancements.
• Keep business stakeholders informed of emerging accounting standards, local GCC regulations, and industry best practices.
• Represent the company in discussions with external auditors and, where relevant, contribute to comment letters or industry forums.

What we’re looking for

• 7-10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in technical accounting or financial reporting.
• Strong exposure to IFRS standards (IFRS 9, 15, 16, 3, 10).
• Experience drafting technical accounting memos, policies, and position papers.
• A background in Big 4 accounting/advisory (Audit, Accounting Advisory Services, or Transaction Accounting) is strongly preferred.
• A professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA (or equivalent).
• Ability to work independently, perform in-depth technical research, and communicate complex issues to non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience managing regional or multi-jurisdictional entities in the GCC is a strong plus
• Demand for online food delivery is growing really fast! In the last 5 years, just in the US, the overall market has expanded 10X from $10B to $100B, and could expand to $500bn- $1T by 2030.
