Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years in a Team Leader or Senior Draftsman role.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.

About the Role

K4 Group is looking for an experienced Joinery Drafting Team Leader to lead and manage the joinery drafting team and oversee the preparation, coordination, review, and approval of detailed joinery shop drawings. The role will be responsible for ensuring that all drawings are technically accurate, aligned with project requirements, and suitable for production and site installation. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Designers, Production Teams, Site Engineers, and Consultants to resolve technical issues and ensure drawings are issued in line with project schedules. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical knowledge of joinery detailing, shop drawings, Auto CAD, manufacturing processes, and interior fit-out projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and mentor the joinery drafting team.
• Allocate drafting tasks based on project priorities, deadlines, and team workload.
• Review, check, and approve joinery shop drawings before submission to clients, consultants, or project teams.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, detailed, and aligned with approved architectural and interior design drawings.
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Designers, Production Teams, Site Engineers, Procurement, and Consultants.
• Ensure joinery drawings comply with project specifications, approved materials, finishes, and design requirements.
• Develop and review detailed joinery shop drawings, fabrication details, sections, elevations, and construction details.
• Resolve technical and detailing issues related to joinery manufacturing and installation.
• Coordinate with production teams to ensure drawings are practical and suitable for manufacturing.
• Ensure drawings are issued and revised according to project schedules and deadlines.
• Monitor drawing revisions and maintain proper document control and drawing registers.
• Review site and production feedback and incorporate required technical revisions.
• Ensure proper coordination between design intent, manufacturing requirements, and site installation conditions.
• Identify potential technical issues during the drafting stage and provide practical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with company drafting standards, quality procedures, and project requirements.
• Monitor the overall performance and productivity of the drafting team.
• Support continuous improvement of drafting processes, standards, and workflows.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Wood Technology, or a related discipline.
• 7-10 years of experience in joinery drafting, interior fit-out, or a related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a Team Leader, Senior Draftsman, or similar supervisory role.
• Advanced proficiency in Auto CAD is essential.
• Strong knowledge of joinery shop drawings, detailing, fabrication methods, and manufacturing processes.
• Good understanding of materials, hardware, finishes, and construction methods used in joinery.
• Ability to interpret architectural, interior design, and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of the relationship between design, production, and site installation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight project deadlines.
• Experience in high-end residential, hospitality, commercial, or luxury interior fit-out projects will be highly preferred.
• UAE experience in joinery or interior fit-out is preferred.
