Job summary

Ali & Sons Marine Engineering Factory (ASMEF) seeks a skilled Team Leader/Senior Technician to supervise workshop activities in Dubai. You will allocate work orders, monitor progress, and ensure timely, quality repairs per manufacturer procedures.

You will mentor Technicians, verify tool usage safety, and coordinate with Service Advisors. A Diploma/Bachelor in Automotive Engineering and 4+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant automotive technician experience.
• Relevant technical certification or qualification is required.
• Previous experience in a Team Leader, Senior Technician, or supervisory role is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair, diagnostics, and manufacturer procedures.
• Valid UAE driving license.

Responsibilities

• Allocate work orders effectively to Technicians and monitor progress.
• Ensure Technicians clock on/off correctly.
• Monitor workshop productivity, efficiency, and lost time.
• Ensure repairs start and complete within timelines.
• Liaise with Service Advisors to clarify customer concerns and work-order requirements.
• Translate customer concerns into clear work instructions for Technicians.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to Technicians.
• Ensure repairs follow manufacturer procedures and workshop manuals.
• Check tools/equipment safety and proper use.
• Assess customer concerns via inspection, road tests, diagnostics, etc.
• Identify and resolve repeat repairs and technical issues.
• Liaise with manufacturer for technical assistance and reporting.
• Monitor repair quality and perform quality-control checks.
• Record all work and defects on work orders.
• Support Service Advisors with initial diagnostics and handovers.
• Promote safe working practices and protect customer property and environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ensure repairs are started and completed within agreed timelines.
• Liaise with Service Advisors to clarify customer concerns and work-order requirements.

• Provide technical guidance, support, coaching, and mentoring to Technicians.
• Ensure repairs are carried out in accordance with manufacturer procedures and workshop manuals.
• Ensure Technicians use the correct tools and equipment safely and appropriately.
• Assess customer concerns through inspection, road tests, diagnostics, or other appropriate methods.
• Identify and support the resolution of repeat repairs and technical issues.
• Liaise with the manufacturer for technical assistance and required reporting.
• Monitor repair quality and complete quality-control checks where applicable.
• Report work-quality, tooling, equipment, and resource issues to the Workshop Manager.
• Ensure all work performed and defects identified are accurately recorded on work orders.
• Support Service Advisors with initial diagnostic activities and vehicle handovers when required.
• Promote safe working practices and the protection of customer property and the environment.
• Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by management to support departmental objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant automotive technician experience.
• Relevant technical certification or qualification is required.
• Previous experience in a Team Leader, Senior Technician, or supervisory role is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair, diagnostics, and manufacturer procedures.
• Valid UAE driving license.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks without compromising quality.
• Fair, professional, and team-oriented approach.
• Computer literate with good knowledge of MS Office and computerized workshop systems.
