Assess and record student progress systematically, maintaining accurate records that support effective planning and provide evidence of individual achievement. Mark students ' work regularly and establish appropriate progress targets in accordance with the school 's marking requirements. Use performance data to identify learning needs, adapt classroom provision, and support continued development. Undertake student assessments required by examination bodies, departmental procedures, and school requirements. Prepare informative reports for parents and communicate clearly regarding student learning and progress.
Identify students requiring differentiated provision and ensure appropriate support is incorporated into classroom teaching. Adapt learning activities to address the needs of EAL students alongside SEN, POD, and gifted and talented learners. Maintain suitable levels of challenge while ensuring students can access and participate effectively in learning. Collaborate with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and other professionals when required to support individual learning needs.
Contribute to the development of English provision by producing, reviewing, and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work. Use curriculum requirements, classroom evidence, assessment outcomes, and student needs to support effective subject planning and consistent learning progression.
Maintain discipline in accordance with the school 's Behaviour for Learning Policy. Promote responsible behaviour, punctuality, appropriate standards of work, and consistent completion of homework. Establish clear classroom expectations that support student engagement, independence, and academic progress.
Attend and support parent and student events and provide parents with clear information regarding student achievement and development. Contribute constructively to the wider work of the school and undertake other appropriate professional responsibilities assigned by the Senior Leadership Team.
