Job summary

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) is seeking an experienced IT professional to lead engineering delivery and excellence across cloud-native platforms, ensuring reliability and security in a dynamic UAE banking environment.

You will own documentation, code reviews, data optimization, and release management while coordinating with vendors and internal teams to deliver high-quality IT services on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience in a large-scale production environment is required.
• ITIL Foundation Certification for IT Service Management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, test, maintain, and upgrade cloud-native platforms and services.
• Document design, implementation, maintenance, and operations for visibility and compliance.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and coding standards.
• Review data structures and produce reports to maximize performance.
• Coordinate with engineering teams on change control, testing, incident management, and release management.
• Manage technical debt within tolerance thresholds to ensure reliability.

In this role, your key responsibilities include:

Engineering Delivery and Excellence

• Design, develop, implement, test, maintain, and upgrade reliable, scalable, resilient, high-quality, cloud-native, and secure platforms, components, systems, and applications to support high-performing cross-functional squads.
• Identify, establish, and maintain all documentation related to design, implementation, maintenance, and operations to ensure ongoing visibility, understanding, and compliance around system behavior.
• Participate in and conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, consistency, and adherence to coding standards.
• Review data structures and identify opportunities, including producing reports as required, to maximize performance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on change control, testing, incident management, troubleshooting, and release management to ensure smooth and reliable software deployment using modern cloud-native approaches.
• Manage technical debt within established tolerance thresholds to ensure reliable and safe experiences for internal and external customers.
• Implement security best practices to protect software from vulnerabilities and threats.
• Stay up to date with current trends and practices in digital technology and organize effective knowledge transfers with peers and other teams.
• Coordinate with external vendors to ensure services are provided according to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and turnaround times (TATs), reporting any discrepancies.
• Coordinate with current vendors to review product solutions and ensure suitability for current project design architecture.

Project Management

• Support project managers in change initiative projects by providing clear visibility of dependencies, timelines, and status updates to ensure timely delivery of IT services.
• Coordinate the transition of new technologies and solutions between engineering and operations teams to ensure execution in line with agreed project plans.
• Manage the identification and resolution of issues reported by business users by coordinating with internal teams and vendors and leveraging escalation processes where necessary to ensure banking projects are delivered within planned timelines.

People Management

• Manage self and team in line with ADCB's people management policies, procedures, processes, and practices to maximize employee contribution and business performance.
• Organize and supervise team activities to ensure targets and objectives are achieved and business plans are delivered in line with required policies, processes, procedures, and systems.

• Implement approved departmental policies, processes, and procedures, ensuring employee adherence so that work is carried out to the required standards while delivering excellent service to customers and stakeholders.
• Manage and motivate the team to contribute to and participate in the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programs, and projects in line with the Bank's standards.
• Customer Service
• Demonstrate "Our Promise" and apply ADCB Service Standards to deliver the Bank's required levels of service in all internal and external customer interactions.

Experience, Qualifications & Competencies

• At least 4 years of experience in Systems Administration within a large-scale production environment.
• Experience in: Incident management and resolution Software release management
• Configuration management
• Banking operations and related support activities

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.

Professional Qualifications

• Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation Certification for IT Service Management
