The role requires 6–8 years in customs operations or trade compliance, with experience in ITAR and UAE Strategic Goods.

POWERTECH is a center of excellence for propulsion technologies, specializing in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of combustion engines, expendable turbojet engines, and turbofan engines for a wide range of aerospace, defence, and autonomous applications, including fixed- and rotary-wing UAVs and other advanced platforms.
The SCM Logistics Specialist manages the end-to-end movement of goods, with primary accountability for customs clearance, The SCM Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing all import and export customs activities to ensure shipments clear UAE and international borders accurately, on time, and in full compliance with applicable trade regulations. The role coordinates directly with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government authorities, manages all trade documentation, and UAE Strategic Goods obligations are met before any shipment is released.
Coordinate and manage all import and export customs clearance activities. Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and UAE government authorities (Federal Customs Authority, Abu Dhabi Customs, Dubai Customs) to ensure shipments are cleared accurately and on time. Resolve holds, queries, and inspections promptly to prevent delays.
Prepare, verify, and submit all required trade documents including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, import permits, and customs declarations. Ensure all documents are accurate, complete, and compliant with UAE trade regulations before submission.
Supports to comply with export control regulations, coordinate with the Logistics Manager and Compliance team. Maintain effective working relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government authorities. Monitor broker performance against agreed SLAs including clearance cycle time, documentation accuracy, and duty optimization. Escalate non-performance to the Logistics Manager and support renegotiation or broker change where required.
Review and validate customs duty calculations, tariff classifications (HS codes), and valuation methods to ensure accuracy and avoid over- or under-payment. Identify and apply applicable duty relief schemes including GCC Customs Union provisions, free zone benefits, and UAE FTA preferential rates where legitimate. Flag discrepancies or unapproved charges to Finance for resolution.
Ensure all shipments involving dangerous goods (DG), or dual-use items are correctly classified, packaged, labelled, and documented in accordance with IATA DGR, and applicable UAE regulations. Coordinate with HSE and warehouse teams to confirm handling and storage requirements are met prior to dispatch.
