Job summary

Jifmar is a worldwide maritime operator offering tailor-made services for client projects. The Superintendent will manage daily technical operations, maintenance planning, and procurement for a fleet of workboats, ensuring safety, compliance, and cost-efficient performance.

Based in the UAE with duties across Dubai/Abu Dhabi, the role blends technical supervision with sourcing and supplier management to optimize vessel availability and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily technical operations of assigned vessels, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant performance.
• Plan and coordinate routine and preventive maintenance schedules with vessel crews and shore teams.
• Conduct vessel inspections and prepare reports on condition, performance, and maintenance needs.
• Supervise dry-dockings, repairs, and modifications; prepare technical specifications and budgets.
• Liaise with classification societies, flag authorities, and port state inspectors to ensure full compliance with applicable regulations.
• Source, evaluate, and purchase technical spares, lubricants, stores, and services for the fleet.
• Negotiate contracts, price agreements, and delivery terms with suppliers and service providers.
• Develop and maintain supplier databases, ensuring quality and cost efficiency.
• Monitor inventory levels, control logistics, and optimize supply chain operations for vessels in various locations (UAE, GCC, or international).
• Review and approve purchase orders, ensuring adherence to company budgets and procedures.
• Prepare maintenance and purchasing budgets for assigned vessels.
• Monitor expenditure and report variances against budgets.
• Contribute to fleet performance KPIs, cost control measures, and operational improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all operations comply with company QHSE policies and maritime regulations.
• Promote a strong safety culture onboard and within the technical department.
• Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions when required

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Management
