Penspen is seeking a Superintendent, Construction – Mechanical (Shutdown) to lead mechanical, piping and equipment overhaul activities during planned plant turnarounds in the oil and gas sector. You will manage onsite teams, coordinate contractors, enforce HSE and quality standards, and ensure safe, on-time turnarounds.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 15–20+ years in oil and gas, and must have ADNOC project experience and familiarity with ASME B31.3,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 15–20+ years in oil and gas with mechanical and piping site construction, maintenance and major turnarounds.
• Mandatory ADNOC project experience.
• Familiar with ASME B31.3, API 650 and ASME IX.

Responsabilités

• Lead site construction teams, contractors, and subcontractors through tight shutdown and turnaround schedules.
• Supervise rotating machinery, static equipment, process piping, and HVAC overhauls.
• Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, permit-to-work protocols, and quality control (ITP/QCP) compliance.
• Coordinate inspection walkdowns, pressure testing, pre-commissioning, and punch-list closures.
• Resolve technical queries and interface with client engineering and vendor teams.

A Superintendent, Construction – Mechanical (Shutdown) manages mechanical, piping, and equipment overhaul activities during planned plant turnarounds, shutdowns, or outages in the oil and gas sector

Qualification And Experience Required.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.


• Minimum of 15 to 20+ years in the oil and gas industry with a strong focus on mechanical and piping site construction, maintenance, and major turnarounds.


• Mandatory experience with ADNOC projects, gas processing/compression, and regional compliance (such as CICPA passes)


• Deep familiarity with international codes including ASME B31.3, API 650, and ASME Section IX.
