Job summary

Penspen is seeking a Superintendent, Construction – Mechanical (Shutdown) to oversee mechanical, piping, and equipment overhaul activities during planned plant turnarounds in the oil and gas sector. The role requires leadership of site teams and strict adherence to HSE, ITP/QCP, and permit-to-work standards.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering with 15–20+ years in oil and gas, including major turnarounds and ADNOC projects, and familiarity with ASME B31.3, API 650, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 15-20+ years in oil and gas with a strong focus on mechanical and piping site construction, maintenance, and major turnarounds.
• Mandatory ADNOC project experience, gas processing/compression, and regional compliance (CICPA passes).
• Familiarity with international codes including ASME B31.3, API 650, and ASME Section IX.

Responsibilities

• Lead site construction teams, contractors, and subcontractors through tight shutdown and turnaround schedules.
• Supervise rotating machinery, static equipment, process piping, and HVAC overhauls.
• Enforce strict HSE standards, permit-to-work protocols, and ITP/QCP compliance.
• Coordinate inspection walkdowns, pressure testing, pre-commissioning, and punch-list closures.
• Resolve technical queries and interface with client engineering and vendor teams.

A Superintendent, Construction – Mechanical (Shutdown) manages mechanical, piping, and equipment overhaul activities during planned plant turnarounds, shutdowns, or outages in the oil and gas sector

Qualification And Experience Required.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum of 15 to 20+ years in the oil and gas industry with a strong focus on mechanical and piping site construction, maintenance, and major turnarounds.
• Mandatory experience with ADNOC projects, gas processing/compression, and regional compliance (such as CICPA passes)
