Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a supervising role for the Girls Section to ensure safety, discipline and wellbeing of students in Grades 5-8 throughout the school day. The incumbent will support a positive and orderly learning environment across classrooms, corridors and common areas.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field and 1-2 years of supervision or pastoral experience, with knowledge of safeguarding practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or preferred in Education or related field.
• Minimum 1-2 years' supervision/pastoral care experience.
• Understanding of child safeguarding and behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise girls in Grades 5-8 during arrival, breaks, and unstructured times.
• Enforce school rules on uniform, conduct, punctuality and attendance.
• Address behavioral incidents and welfare concerns with appropriate staff.
• Maintain attendance and disciplinary records for the section.
• Coordinate with teachers, counselors and VP on recurring concerns.
• Support safeguarding policies and pastoral activities.

Job Purpose: To ensure the safety, discipline, and general wellbeing of girls in Grades 5-8 throughout the school day, supporting a positive and orderly learning environment across classrooms, corridors, and common areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise students in Grades 5-8 during arrival, dismissal, break times, lunch, assemblies, corridor transitions and other unstructured times.
• Monitor and enforce school rules regarding uniform, conduct, punctuality and attendance for the assigned grade band.
• Respond promptly to student behavioral incidents, minor conflicts and welfare concerns, escalating to the Vice Principal or relevant staff as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, late arrivals, incidents and disciplinary actions for the assigned section.
• Liaise with class/homeroom teachers, counselors and the Vice Principal regarding recurring behavioral or attendance concerns.
• Support the implementation of the school's behavior management and safeguarding policies.
• Assist with the organization of assemblies, school events, trips and examinations for the Girls Section.
• Communicate with parents as required regarding conduct, attendance or welfare matters, under guidance from school leadership.
• Ensure a safe, calm and respectful environment across supervised areas at all times.
• Undertake other pastoral/administrative duties as assigned by the Vice Principal.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree preferred (Education or related field an advantage); relevant experience in student supervision/pastoral care will be considered.
• Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a school supervisory, pastoral, or student affairs role, preferred with the 10-14 age group.
• Understanding of child safeguarding and behavior management practices.
