Job summary

Wood is seeking a senior Structural Fabrication Supervisor in Abu Dhabi to lead day-to-day fabrication activities, ensuring adherence to ADNOC standards and approved drawings. The role requires extensive experience in welding, fit-up, and assembly, with strong coordination across engineering, QA/QC, and planning functions.

You will oversee productivity, material availability, and subcontractors, while maintaining rigorous safety, quality, and schedule compliance on large-scale Middle East

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in structural steel fabrication.
• Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role on EPC/EPCM projects.
• Experience on ADNOC or similar Middle East projects.
• Ability to read structural and fabrication drawings.
• Familiarity with ADNOC standards and HSE requirements.
• Strong leadership and multicultural supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day fabrication activities: cutting, drilling, fit-up, welding and assembly.
• Ensure work aligns with IFC drawings, fabrication drawings, WPS/ITPs and ADNOC specs.
• Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC and planning teams for smooth workflow.
• Monitor productivity and optimize manpower, materials and equipment usage.
• Review drawings for constructability and identify issues before execution.
• Maintain material traceability, storage and handling of structural components.
• Provide daily/weekly progress reports to Construction Project Management.
• Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Support site erection teams to meet erection interfaces and timing.
• Keep records including production, inspection, and as-built documentation.

Job description

Supervise day-to-day structural fabrication activities including cutting drilling fit-up welding and assembly of structural steel components Ensure all works are executed in accordance with approved IFC drawings fabrication drawings WPS ITPs and ADNOC specifications Coordinate with engineering detailing QA QC and planning teams to ensure accurate interpretation of drawings and smooth workflow Review fabrication drawings and identify constructability issues prior to execution Monitor productivity and ensure optimal utilization of manpower materials and fabrication equipment Ensure availability of materials plates beams sections and consumables to meet fabrication schedules Enforce strict adherence to HSE policies and ADNOC safety standards within the fabrication shop Coordinate with QA QC for inspections including fit-up welding dimensional checks and final acceptance Ensure compliance with welding procedures dimensional tolerances and coating painting requirements if applicable Maintain material traceability and ensure proper identification storage and handling of structural components Track fabrication progress and provide daily weekly reports to Construction Project Management Supervise subcontractors if applicable and ensure compliance with project quality and safety standards Support site erection teams by ensuring fabricated components meet erection and interface requirements Maintain records including production reports inspection reports and as-built documentation

Expected: Diploma or Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent technical qualification. Minimum 10 years of experience in structural steel fabrication, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role. Proven experience working on ADNOC or similar Middle East oil & gas EPC/EPCM projects. Strong knowledge of structural fabrication processes, welding, and applicable codes (AISC, AWS, BS/EN standards). Familiarity with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and HSE requirements. Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, fabrication drawings, and GA drawings. Experience in fabrication shop operations, workforce supervision, and productivity management. Good coordination and communication skills across disciplines. Strong focus on safety, quality, and schedule adherence. Experience on large-scale, multi-billion-dollar EPCM projects. Knowledge of bolt tensioning, structural alignment, and erection interfaces. Familiarity with coating/painting systems and preservation requirements. Basic computer skills (MS Office, fabrication tracking/reporting systems). Proven leadership ability in managing multicultural workforce environments.
