Job summary

Client of CS & Clarks in Dubai is seeking a structural design engineer to design, analyze and oversee construction projects with emphasis on safety, sustainability and compliance with codes. The role requires collaboration with architects, engineers and construction teams.

The candidate should hold a civil/structural engineering degree (PE license preferred) and be proficient in major design software to model and validate structural behavior.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, ETABS or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze detailed structural designs for commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, Revit and structural analysis programs to create and simulate models.
  • Coordinate with architects and other engineers to determine project specifications and layouts.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, ordinances and safety standards.
  • Prepare reports and design documents for internal reviews and regulatory submissions.
  • Conduct site visits to verify construction progress and conformance with designs.
  • Address design issues promptly and propose modifications as needed.

Job description

Indian National Preferred The Structural Design Engineer will be responsible for designing planning and overseeing various construction projects that involve structural components This role involves applying principles of structural engineering and architectural design to ensure that structures are safe sustainable and capable of withstanding the elements and stresses they will encounter The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in the principles of structural engineering experience with design software and a commitment to staying current with industry trends and technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Analysis Develop detailed structural designs for various projects including commercial residential and industrial buildings Utilize software such as AutoCAD Revit and structural analysis programs to create and simulate structural models.
  • Project Planning Work closely with architects construction managers and other engineers to determine the specifications of a project Plan the layout of structures considering physical constraints and regulatory requirements.
  • Material Selection Select appropriate construction materials for the structures considering factors such as strength durability and cost Ensure materials comply with industry standards and environmental regulations.
  • Compliance and Safety Ensure all designs and architectural plans meet building codes local ordinances and safety standards Stay updated with the latest building regulations and codes.
  • Collaboration Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and architects to integrate structural designs with electrical mechanical and civil engineering elements of projects.
  • Documentation Prepare reports design documents and structural analysis findings for internal review and submission to regulatory bodies Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
  • Site Visits Conduct site visits to monitor the progress of construction projects ensuring that the work conforms to the design specifications and safety standards.
  • Problem-Solving Address design and engineering issues that arise during the construction process Provide technical guidance and propose modifications as necessary.
Qualifications
