Job summary

SearchPlus HR is seeking a Consultant in Stroke Medicine for a leading hospital in the UAE. The role emphasizes assessment, diagnosis, acute management, and long-term care of stroke patients within a multidisciplinary stroke and neuroscience team.

The ideal candidate will have postgraduate qualifications in neurology or stroke medicine, Western-boarded credentials, and established consultant-level experience in acute stroke management, with opportunities for research and service development.

Qualifications

• Medical degree with postgraduate qualifications in Neurology/Stroke Medicine or related field.
• American Board or UK CCT or equivalent Western qualification.
• Consultant-level experience in acute stroke care and cerebrovascular disease.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute stroke and cerebrovascular conditions.
• Provide evaluation and management of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke.
• Oversee thrombolysis and thrombectomy pathways in hyperacute stroke.
• Inpatient and outpatient management of stroke patients.
• Develop individualized treatment and secondary prevention plans.
• Collaborate with neurology, neuroradiology, neurosurgery, emergency medicine, rehabilitation, and ICU teams.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary stroke meetings and complex case discussions.
• Interpret neurological imaging and investigations; ensure patient safety and governance.
• Contribute to stroke pathways, protocols, audits, research, and service development.

Education

Medical degree with recognized postgraduate qualification in Neurology or Stroke Medicine, Internal Medicine or relevant specialty

American Board, UK CCT or equivalent Western qualification

Western-qualified consultant-level experience
