Job summary

SearchPlus HR Consultancy is supporting a leading hospital in the UAE to recruit an experienced Consultant in Stroke Medicine. The role focuses on assessment, diagnosis, acute management, and long-term care of stroke patients within a multidisciplinary neuroscience team.

The successful candidate will lead evidence-based care, contribute to stroke service development, and participate in audits, teaching, and quality improvement initiatives, with visa and relocation support provided.

Qualifications

• Medical degree with recognized postgraduate qualification in Neurology, Stroke Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a relevant specialty.
• American Board, UK CCT/CCST, or equivalent recognized Western qualification.
• Western-qualified candidate with established Consultant-level experience.
• Strong clinical experience in acute stroke, cerebrovascular disease, and stroke prevention.
• Experience in a comprehensive stroke unit, tertiary hospital, or advanced neuroscience setting preferred.
• Knowledge and experience of evidence-based acute stroke management and reperfusion pathways.
• Strong clinical decision-making and multidisciplinary working skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Commitment to patient safety, clinical governance, research, and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with acute stroke and other cerebrovascular conditions.
• Provide timely evaluation and management of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke.
• Manage hyperacute stroke cases, including assessment for thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy pathways.
• Provide ongoing inpatient and outpatient management for stroke patients.
• Develop individualized treatment and secondary prevention plans.
• Work closely with neurology, neuroradiology, neurosurgery, emergency medicine, rehabilitation, and intensive care teams.
• Participate in multidisciplinary stroke meetings and complex case discussions.
• Interpret and integrate relevant neurological imaging and diagnostic investigations.
• Support stroke prevention, rehabilitation, and long-term patient management.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure high standards of patient safety.
• Participate in clinical audits, research, teaching, and service development.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of stroke pathways, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives.
