Job summary

Hims & Hers is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to serve as a technical leader, bridging strategy and production-ready ML. You will design automated ML foundations, build scalable data products, and act as a force multiplier across teams.

You will mentor senior and mid-level data scientists, own the full model lifecycle, and partner with Engineering, Product, and Business to drive measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Data Science or ML Engineering with production systems experience.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; strong emphasis on the Python data stack.
• Experience with major ML frameworks (PyTorch or XGBoost/LightGBM) and scalable ML infra.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
• Experience with production deployment and reliability of ML systems (CI/CD, ML Ops).
• bs/ms/phd in quantitative field or equivalent expertise.

Responsibilities

• Architect the 0-to-1 Foundation by designing automated ML systems.
• Translate ambiguous business questions into concrete technical roadmaps.
• Lead end-to-end deployment of ML products into production infrastructure.
• Partner with Engineering, Product and Business to align technical strategy with business goals.
• Define standards for model development and reproducibility through design docs.
• Own the full model lifecycle from data design to long-term performance.
• Mentor Senior and Mid-level Data Scientists to raise technical capability.
