Job summary

Jobgether SRL seeks a Head of Data Science & Credit Risk to lead ML-powered underwriting and risk decisioning across markets. You will own the full model lifecycle, mentor a team of data scientists and risk analysts, and partner with Engineering, Product, and Finance to translate analytics into measurable growth.

You will drive policy development, portfolio health, and responsible lending while expanding into new markets with an emphasis on fair, accessible financial services.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of combined experience across data science, ML, and consumer credit risk.
• Proven experience in credit risk leadership across multiple products and markets.
• Production ML in real-time or near-real-time decisioning environments.
• Experience with experimentation and A/B testing to assess policy changes.
• Strong statistical foundations with modern ML approaches.
• Proficiency in SQL and cloud-based data platforms.
• Experience with cloud data infrastructure; GCP BigQuery is a plus.
• Technical leadership with hands-on model development and problem solving.
• Excellent communication to explain complex risk concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Startup mindset; familiarity with SE Asian credit markets is advantageous.
• MLOps tools experience; MLflow a plus and IFRS 9 regulatory knowledge is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement of ML models for credit decisioning, fraud detection, and risk segmentation.
• Develop underwriting algorithms using alternative data sources to expand access to financial services.
• Build and scale real-time scoring models across markets and products.
• Ensure models are interpretable, robust, fair, and monitored for drift and accuracy.
• Establish strong MLOps practices for experimentation, versioning, deployment, and lifecycle management.
• Develop credit risk frameworks, policies, thresholds, and customer segmentation across markets.
• Track portfolio risk metrics, investigate changes, and set early-warning indicators.
• Lead A/B testing and policy experimentation to refine decisioning strategies.
• Coordinate stress testing and expected credit loss modeling with Finance.
• Localized risk modeling for expansion into new markets; mentor junior staff.
• Own the data science and credit risk roadmap; present findings to executives.
