Job summary

Black Pearl Consult seeks a Sr. Structural Engineer in Abu Dhabi with 10–15 years of experience, including at least 5 years in the UAE.

You will lead design modeling, analysis, and BIM coordination for multiple projects, ensuring compliance with international codes and smooth integration with architectural and MEP teams. You will oversee design accuracy, prepare construction documents, mentor junior staff, and drive value engineering while advancing BIM standards and sustainable design practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 10–15 years of experience as a Structural Engineer with at least 5 years in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities

• Develop design concepts, initial framing layouts, and structural models for assigned projects.
• Lead structural design, modeling, analysis, and calculations per relevant codes and standards.
• Coordinate with architectural, MEP, and other disciplines to resolve design conflicts and ensure integration of building systems.
• Review and finalize construction drawings for accuracy before issuance.
• Provide value engineering to optimize cost, constructability, and quality.
• Resolve site issues and discrepancies with site engineers.
• Develop and manage 3D structural models using BIM software (Revit, Tekla, etc.).
• Prepare and review construction documents, generate detailed reports, and maintain project files.
• Enforce BIM standards, conduct model reviews, and perform quality checks.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and BIM technicians.
• Incorporate sustainable design principles and innovative solutions.
• Serve as primary BIM contact for clients and stakeholders.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Structural Engineer to join a dynamic team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have 1015 years of experience in structural engineering with at least 5 years of experience in Abu Dhabi. The role involves leading structural design analysis and modeling for multiple projects ensuring compliance with international codes and standards and collaborating with crossfunctional teams to deliver highquality construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop design concepts initial framing layouts and structural models for assigned projects.
• Lead structural design modeling analysis and calculations ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Coordinate with architectural MEP and other discipline teams to resolve design conflicts and ensure seamless integration of building systems.
• Review and finalize construction drawings ensuring accuracy and completeness before issuance.
• Provide value engineering expertise to optimize designs for cost constructability and quality.
• Resolve site issues and discrepancies in project drawings in collaboration with site engineers.
• Develop and manage 3D structural models using BIM software (Revit Tekla etc. ensuring all detailing and annotations are accurate.
• Prepare and review construction documents generate detailed reports and maintain organized project documentation.
• Implement and enforce BIM standards conduct model reviews and perform quality checks to ensure errorfree deliverables.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and BIM technicians promoting continuous learning and development.
• Incorporate sustainable design principles and explore innovative solutions to improve project outcomes.
• Serve as the primary contact for BIMrelated queries presenting models and deliverables to clients and stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience: 1015 years of experience as a Structural Engineer with at least 5 years in Abu Dhabi.
• Software Proficiency: Revit BIM ETABS SAFE SAP2000 PROKON STAADPro AutoCAD Concise Beam RAM Concept Tekla and MS Office.
• Codes & Standards: Familiarity with American codes (ADIBC2013 ACI 31819 UBC97 ASCE705 IBC2006 British codes (BS8110 BS6399 and UAE local authority requirements.

Skills:

• Expert in structural analysis and design with compliance to relevant codes.
• Strong leadership abilities in design strategy cost optimization quality assurance and constructability review.
• Excellent analytical communication interpersonal and problemsolving skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects resolve critical design issues and deliver highquality construction drawings.
• Experience in client and stakeholder engagement resolving technical issues and ensuring design adequacy and integrity.
