Job summary

Redfish solutions is seeking a Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management for major MEP projects in the GCC region. You will own the commercial strategy, negotiate key terms, and work with the project team to keep projects on track.

The role requires strong experience with FIDIC contracts, interim valuations, and final accounting, along with the ability to forecast cash flow and manage variations and claims. UAE/GCC exposure is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or closely related discipline.
• 10+ years of quantity surveying or commercial experience in MEP contracting or building services.
• 7+ years in UAE or GCC market.

Job description

Our client, a highly-established GCC-based MEP contractor are looking for a Senior MEP QS to lead commercial and contractual management of major MEP projects/packages, from award through to final account.

In this role, the successful candidate will own commercial strategy, lead key negotiations and work closely with the project team to provide clear, practical advice ensuring that projects are commercially on-track. You will drive accurate forecasting, effective change recovery and robust contract administration, while helping to develop a strong, capable commercial team.

Requirements Education and Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• 10+ years of quantity-surveying or commercial experience in building-services or MEP contracting, including 7+ years in the UAE or a comparable GCC market.
• Demonstrated responsibility for major-project or portfolio-level valuations, cost reporting, variations, subcontract administration, claims support, negotiations, and final accounts.

Mandatory Requirements Commercial and Contractual Expertise

• Strong working knowledge of FIDIC-based contracts, remeasurement and lump-sum mechanisms, notices, payment provisions, and common UAE construction-commercial practice.
• Proven ability to manage interim valuations, measurement, variations, claims, subcontract administration, cost reporting, cash-flow forecasting, margin analysis, and final-account processes.
• Ability to prepare and review evidence-based rate build-ups covering labour, plant, materials, preliminaries, and overheads where permitted.
• Ability to interpret scopes, specifications, bills of quantities, amendments, subcontract conditions, and contractual supporting documents.
• Ability to control notice, variation, claims, risk, opportunity, and commercial registers and to make timely escalation and recovery recommendations.

Tools, Leadership, and Professional Practice:

• Advanced Excel and competent use of Microsoft Office, CostX, PlanSwift, AutoCAD, or comparable
• Ability to review traceable measurements, reconciliations, forecasts, records, and audit trails prepared by others.
• Demonstrated negotiation, stakeholder-management, delegation, coaching, and team-development capability.
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Strong commercial judgement, analytical discipline, communication, integrity, and ability to protect confidential information.

Preferred Requirements:

• Professional membership or progress toward MRICS, CIArb, or an equivalent recognized credential.
• Ability to speak Arabic is advantageous
• Experience with ERP systems and integrated commercial or project-management platforms.
• A valid UAE driving licence, particularly for site-based assignments, where required.
• Additional experience in major MEP project delivery, complex package portfolios, claims strategy, or comparable GCC construction-commercial environments.

Pay range and compensation package

• AED 18,000 to AED 20,000 + standard labour-law single-status benefits
