Overview

The Specialist – IVF and Fertility Medicine will assess and treat patients and couples experiencing infertility. The role involves patient‑centered care, advanced reproductive technologies, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to provide compassionate, evidence‑based treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct consultations, fertility assessments, reproductive health evaluations, and clinical reviews for patients and couples with infertility.
• Develop individualized treatment plans for infertility, ovulatory disorders, reproductive health conditions, and assisted conception pathways.
• Manage IVF and ICSI cycles, including ovarian stimulation planning, ovulation induction, follicular monitoring, medication adjustment, and cycle progress review.
• Perform or oversee egg retrievals, embryo transfers, and related assisted reproductive technology procedures in line with clinical protocols and patient safety standards.
• Interpret ultrasound scans, hormonal profiles, semen analysis, genetic screening results, ovarian reserve testing, and other fertility‑related diagnostic investigations.
• Collaborate closely with embryologists, fertility nurses, sonographers, laboratory teams, counselors, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide counselling and emotional support to patients throughout diagnosis, treatment selection, cycle monitoring, procedure preparation, results review, and follow‑up care.
• Explain treatment options, expected success factors, risks, limitations, medication effects, procedural steps, and alternative reproductive pathways with clarity and empathy.
• Monitor treatment outcomes, review cycle performance, identify areas for improvement, and participate in fertility service quality initiatives.
• Maintain accurate medical records, stimulation plans, procedure notes, consent documentation, investigation results, counselling notes, and follow‑up records.
• Ensure clinical practice remains compliant with UAE healthcare standards, fertility regulations, clinical governance requirements, ethical standards, and international best practices.
• Stay updated with advancements in reproductive medicine, fertility preservation, IVF technologies, ART laboratory coordination, and evidence‑based fertility protocols.
• Support fertility preservation discussions and advanced reproductive options where clinically appropriate.
• Contribute to a supportive, culturally aware, and confidential environment for patients from diverse backgrounds.

Ideal Profile

• Medical degree such as MBBS, MD, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Completion of specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Fellowship, subspecialty training, or recognized advanced training in Reproductive Medicine, IVF, or Assisted Reproductive Technology.
• Valid UAE healthcare license or eligibility as a Specialist IVF Physician or relevant specialist category is preferred.
• Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in IVF, fertility treatment, and reproductive medicine within a reputable healthcare facility.
• Proven expertise in IVF cycles, ICSI pathways, ovulation induction, follicular monitoring, egg retrieval, embryo transfer, and fertility management.
• Strong ability to interpret ultrasound findings, hormonal profiles, semen analysis, genetic screening results, and reproductive diagnostic tests.
• Experience with advanced fertility preservation techniques is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of international fertility treatment protocols, ethical standards, and patient safety requirements.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, counselling, and patient relationship skills.
• Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
