Position Overview

Specialist - Hemato-Oncology in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a focused Hospital and Health Care opportunity for a qualified physician experienced in hematologic disorders, benign and malignant blood diseases, solid tumor oncology, chemotherapy planning, targeted therapies, immunotherapy, and multidisciplinary cancer care. This role is ideal for a Western-trained specialist who can support evidence-based oncology practice, safe treatment delivery, patient-centered care, and cancer program development within a leading hospital in Dubai.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with hematologic disorders, solid tumor oncology cases, benign blood conditions, malignant hematologic diseases, and treatment‑related complications.
• Oversee chemotherapy planning, treatment coordination, administration review, toxicity monitoring, and follow-up care in line with recognized oncology standards.
• Manage inpatient and outpatient hemato‑oncology services, including new consultations, treatment reviews, urgent assessments, and long‑term follow‑up visits.
• Interpret bone marrow biopsy findings, flow cytometry results, hematologic investigations, laboratory reports, imaging summaries, and pathology findings to support clinical decisions.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and coordinate treatment planning with pathology, radiology, surgery, radiation oncology, pharmacy, nursing, and allied healthcare teams.
• Support evidence‑based treatment pathways using international oncology guidelines such as NCCN, ESMO, ASCO, and hospital‑approved protocols.
• Manage complex hematologic emergencies, oncology complications, treatment toxicity, neutropenic fever, cytopenias, and urgent cancer‑related presentations.
• Contribute to safe use of targeted therapies, immunotherapy, chemotherapy regimens, supportive medications, and modern oncology treatment protocols.
• Provide clear patient counselling regarding diagnosis, treatment options, therapy risks, expected outcomes, follow‑up plans, and supportive care needs.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, chemotherapy records, treatment summaries, consent forms, digital health entries, and follow‑up plans.
• Support clinical governance, cancer care quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, audit activity, and service development projects.
• Teach and support junior doctors, nurses, residents, and clinical staff involved in hematology and oncology care.
• Contribute to cancer program expansion by helping improve workflows, multidisciplinary coordination, patient education, and evidence‑based clinical practice.

Ideal Profile

• Medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Specialist qualification in Hematology, Medical Oncology, Hemato‑Oncology, or an equivalent related specialty.
• Western training or equivalent qualification such as American Board, Canadian certification, UK CCT, CESR, or comparable recognized credential.
• Eligibility for DHA Specialist License through Dubai Health Authority.
• Minimum 3-5 years of post‑specialist experience is preferred.
• Experience managing both benign and malignant hematologic conditions.
• Strong clinical background in solid tumor oncology, chemotherapy planning, hematologic investigations, oncology follow‑up, and multidisciplinary cancer care.
