Job summary

Allocation Assist Middle East seeks a Specialist Hemato-Oncologist to lead high-level cancer medicine care in Dubai. You will manage hematologic disorders and solid-tumor oncology within a multidisciplinary team, oversee chemotherapy planning and monitoring, and collaborate across pathology, radiology, surgery, and pharmacy to implement evidence-based protocols.

You will contribute to service development, patient safety, digital workflows, and education of junior physicians, ensuring alignment

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of post-specialist clinical experience.
• Experience in hematologic disorders, solid-tumor oncology, chemotherapy management.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients with suspected or confirmed hematologic/oncologic conditions and establish diagnostic pathways.
• Diagnose and manage benign and malignant hematologic disorders alongside solid-tumor oncology cases.
• Develop chemotherapy treatment plans and oversee administration, toxicity monitoring, and follow-up.
• Manage inpatient and outpatient hemato-oncology patients through diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
• Interpret bone marrow biopsies, flow cytometry, and pathology reports.
• Assess treatment response and adjust therapies per disease progression and toxicity.
• Apply targeted therapies, immunotherapy, and other systemic treatments as appropriate.
• Coordinate care with pathology, radiology, surgery, radiation oncology, and pharmacists.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and contribute recommendations.

Role Context The Specialist Hemato-Oncologist will provide comprehensive assessment and treatment for patients with blood disorders and cancer while contributing to an integrated multidisciplinary oncology service. The position combines diagnostic evaluation, systemic therapy planning, treatment monitoring, emergency management, and long-term clinical follow-up. The specialist will work closely with pathology, radiology, surgery, radiation oncology, nursing, pharmacy, and other clinical teams to ensure treatment decisions are aligned with individual patient needs and recognized international cancer care standards. The role will also support service development, patient safety, digital clinical workflows, and continuous improvement across hemato-oncology services.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients with suspected or confirmed hematologic and oncologic conditions and establish appropriate diagnostic pathways.
• Diagnose and manage benign and malignant hematologic disorders alongside solid-tumor oncology cases.
• Develop chemotherapy treatment plans and oversee administration, toxicity monitoring, and follow-up.
• Manage inpatient and outpatient hemato-oncology patients throughout diagnosis, active treatment, surveillance, and supportive care.
• Interpret bone marrow biopsy findings, flow cytometry results, hematologic investigations, pathology reports, and relevant imaging.
• Assess treatment response and modify therapeutic strategies according to disease progression, toxicity, laboratory trends, and clinical findings.
• Apply targeted therapies, immunotherapy, chemotherapy, and other evidence-based systemic treatments where appropriate.
• Recognize and manage hematologic and oncologic emergencies requiring urgent intervention.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and contribute specialist recommendations to complex treatment decisions.
• Coordinate patient management with pathologists, radiologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Follow recognized oncology guidance including NCCN, ESMO, ASCO, and other appropriate evidence-based protocols.
• Maintain complete medical documentation covering diagnosis, treatment planning, medication administration, response assessment, complications, and follow-up.
• Support digital health systems and structured oncology documentation workflows.
• Provide clinical guidance and teaching to junior physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
• Participate in clinical governance, patient safety programs, audits, quality improvement, and development of oncology services.

Ideal Profile

• Recognized specialist qualification in Hematology, Medical Oncology, Hematology-Oncology, or an equivalent specialty pathway.
• American Board, Canadian specialist certification, UK CCT, CESR, or equivalent Western training is preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of post-specialist clinical experience.
• Strong experience managing benign and malignant hematologic conditions.
• Proven ability to manage solid tumors within a multidisciplinary cancer care setting.
• Practical experience with chemotherapy planning, administration oversight, and treatment monitoring.
• Competence interpreting bone marrow biopsies, flow cytometry, hematologic investigations, and oncology diagnostics.
• Experience with targeted therapies, immunotherapy, and modern systemic oncology protocols is highly desirable.
• Confidence managing complex hematologic and oncologic emergencies.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multicultural clinical teams.
• Commitment to patient-centered treatment and evidence-based cancer care.
• Eligibility for DHA Specialist licensing in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
