Job summary

NMC GROUP SERVICES. seeks a Gastroenterologist to deliver expert GI services in an Abu Dhabi clinic, aligning with credentialed privileges.

You will evaluate GI patients, perform endoscopies and related procedures, provide inpatient consults, on-call coverage, and contribute to ongoing quality assurance and staff education.

Candidates should hold DOH license, have GI residency and at least 2 years of GI practice, with strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved Medical School.
• 1 year rotating internship.
• 3 years residency of Internal Medicine.
• 3 years residency in Gastroenterology.
• Current license in country of origin.
• DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
• Minimum 2 years GI practice.
• Knowledge of medical ethics and patient confidentiality.
• Personality that inspires confidence and trust in patients.
• Adherence to bylaws and regulations of the Medical Organization.
• Excellent command of oral and written English.
• Knowledge of Arabic desirable.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform GI duties according to privileges and delineation approved by Credentials Committee.
• Evaluate GI patients in the GI Clinic.
• Perform GI procedures: upper and lower GI endoscopies, liver biopsies, ERCP, oesophageal motility studies.
• Provide consultation referrals to inpatient services in area of expertise.
• Provide after-hours on-call emergency coverage for GI emergencies.
• Supervise and educate endoscopy staff nurses and technicians.
• Participate in quality assurance activities such as monthly mortality and morbidity conference, peer review, and chart reviews.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform the professional duties of a gastroenterologist in accordance with the delineation of privileges as recommended and approved by the Credentials Committee
• Evaluate patients with G I diseases in the G I Clinic
• Perform G I procedures - upper and lower G I endoscopies liver biopsies E R C P oesophageal motility studies
• Provide consultation referral services to the inpatient services in area of expertise
• Provide after working hours on call emergency coverage for G I emergencies
• Provide supervision and education to the endoscopy staff nurses and technicians
• Participate and contribute to quality assurance activities of the service monthly mortality and morbidity conference peer review audit and chart review

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved Medical School
• 1 year of Rotating Internship
• 3 year residency of Internal Medicine Residency
• 3 years Residency training in a recognized residency in Gastroenterology
• Current license in country of origin
• Specialist Gastroenterologist DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.
• Minimum 2 years experience of practice in the field of GI
• Thorough knowledge of medical ethics and patient confidentiality
