Core Duties
- Conduct detailed obstetric and gynecological consultations for women requiring routine care, urgent assessment, pregnancy support, or long‑term treatment planning.
- Manage routine and high‑risk pregnancies through antenatal reviews, fetal wellbeing monitoring, maternal health assessment, risk identification, and delivery planning.
- Provide antenatal and postnatal care with a strong focus on maternal recovery, fetal health, breastfeeding support coordination, post‑delivery concerns, and follow‑up needs.
- Perform gynecological and obstetric procedures including cesarean sections, hysterectomies, laparoscopies, dilation and curettage, colposcopy, and fertility‑related interventions where clinically appropriate.
- Diagnose and manage gynecological conditions such as menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, fibroids, endometriosis, infections, hormonal concerns, and fertility‑related issues.
- Collaborate with midwives, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, radiologists, fertility specialists, nurses, and allied healthcare teams to support integrated patient care.
- Communicate effectively with Arabic‑speaking patients and families, ensuring diagnosis, treatment options, surgical risks, pregnancy plans, and follow‑up instructions are clearly understood.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including consultation notes, antenatal records, operative documentation, consent forms, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
- Ensure clinical practice complies with DHA standards, hospital protocols, patient safety requirements, infection control procedures, and evidence‑based medical guidelines.
- Participate in departmental audits, CME activities, quality improvement initiatives, case reviews, and clinical learning sessions.
- Support preventive women’s health education, including family planning, reproductive health, cervical screening, pregnancy preparation, and healthy lifestyle guidance.
- Provide compassionate and culturally aware care during sensitive discussions related to pregnancy, fertility, gynecological procedures, and women’s health concerns.
Ideal Profile
- Medical degree such as MBBS, MD, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Specialist qualification in Obstetrics and Gynecology such as Arab Board, MRCOG, or equivalent recognized certification.
- DHA license or eligibility for specialist‑level practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Minimum 5 years of post‑specialization experience in a hospital or women’s health clinic.
- Fluency in Arabic, both spoken and written, is required.
- Strong surgical and diagnostic skills across obstetric and gynecological domains.
- Proven experience managing prenatal care, labor support, postnatal care, high‑risk pregnancies, and gynecological procedures.
- Ability to perform or support cesarean sections, laparoscopic procedures, hysterectomies, D and C, colposcopy, and fertility‑related interventions as per scope of practice.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with culturally sensitive communication and patient‑centered counselling ability.
- Strong teamwork skills with experience collaborating across maternity, neonatal, anesthesia, nursing, and diagnostic services.
- Commitment to clinical governance, patient safety, ethical practice, accurate documentation, and continuous professional development.
