Job summary

GEMS Legacy School - Dubai seeks a passionate Middle School Special Educator to join the Inclusion team. You will support students with additional learning needs through targeted interventions and collaboration with teachers, parents, and specialists to ensure every student can succeed.

Responsibilities include developing IEPs, differentiating instruction, and using data to guide interventions, while promoting wellbeing and inclusive practices across the school community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Inclusive Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in special education or learning support.

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Middle School Special Educator to join our Inclusion team. The successful candidate will support students with additional learning needs by providing targeted interventions, promoting classroom inclusion, and working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and specialists to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group interventions to support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress against identified targets.
• Collaborate with subject teachers to implement effective differentiation, scaffolding, accommodations, and inclusive classroom strategies.
• Use assessment data and observations to identify learning needs and inform appropriate interventions.
• Work closely with parents, teachers, counsellors, therapists, and the Inclusion team to ensure a coordinated approach to student support.
• Promote student wellbeing, independence, confidence, and active participation in the school community.
• Maintain accurate student records and contribute to case reviews, meetings, and relevant school initiatives.
• Support the development of inclusive practices and contribute to staff awareness and professional learning.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Inclusive Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
• Relevant teaching/special education qualification preferred.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in special education or learning support, preferably within a school environment.
• Experience working with Middle School students is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IEPs, differentiation, intervention strategies, and inclusive education practices.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
