Job summary

FirmVacation Group in the UAE seeks a skilled sommelier to lead wine service within our hospitality team. You will collaborate with chefs to curate wine pairings, manage wine stock and guest experiences, and train staff on wine knowledge.

The ideal candidate has solid hospitality experience, strong communication, and leadership abilities, with willingness to relocate across the UAE. Knowledge of wine trends and vendor negotiations is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years hospitality experience in a similar function.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and educate the group.
• Strong management qualities and excellent organizational skills.
• Willing to move throughout United Arab Emirates.
• Preferred WSET 1, WSET 2

Responsibilities

• Developing and updating wine checklists with the cooks as well as supervisor.
• Making recommendations on food and wine pairings.
• Making sure that the wine rack is completely equipped.
• Informing visitors on the selection of wines readily available.
• Training wait personnel on available red wines.
• Negotiating prices with vendors.
• Organizing wine tasting occasions.
• Abiding with health and wellness regulations.
