Job summary

JobCenter in Dubai is seeking a Sommelier for a high-end restaurant to oversee the wine selection and service. You will advise guests on wine pairings and maintain knowledge of global wines to ensure an exceptional dining experience.

You will collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure wine and food harmony, manage storage and rotation of wine, and train staff on proper wine service. Competitive salary and flexible hours are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience as a sommelier or similar role (willing to consider candidates without experience)
• Extensive knowledge of different types of wines & grape varieties
• Strong customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Develop wine lists that meet the standards of the restaurant
• Advise customers on the best wines to pair with their meals
• Maintain knowledge of local, national, and international wines
• Ensure proper storage and rotation of wine in stock
• Keep up to date with trends in the industry
• Work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure food & wine pairings are accurate
• Train wait staff on how to properly serve wines in accordance with restaurant standards
• Assist customers with ordering, decanting, pouring, and serving wines as needed
