Job summary

Big Mamma Group in Dubai is seeking a passionate Junior Sommelier to lead wine service in our new Dubai location. You will guide guests through the wine menu, recommend pairings, and contribute to delivering exceptional hospitality.

You will train colleagues, maintain the wine cellar, manage stock with FIFO, and collaborate with suppliers to optimize quality and cost.

Qualifications

• Wine knowledge and passion for Italian hospitality.
• Recognized sommelier certification (WSET, CMS, AIS, or equivalent).
• Ability to train staff and build guest relationships.
• Experience in wine pairing and cellar management.

Responsibilities

• Guide guests through the wine menu and suggest pairings.
• Maintain the wine cellar, inventory, and stock rotation (FIFO).

We are growing in an increasingly international and dynamic environment and need an experienced and passionate Junior Sommelier for our BIG TEAM in Dubai.

Deliver an Outstanding Guest Experience

• Create authentic and memorable experiences, embodying the warmth and generosity of Italian hospitality.
• Guide guests through the food and wine menu, recommending thoughtful wine pairings.
• Build strong relationships with guests by recognizing preferences, creating personalized experiences, and handling feedback professionally.

Be the Wine Expert

• Act as the restaurant’s wine reference point, sharing expertise with guests and the team.
• Train and support colleagues on wine knowledge, service techniques, and pairing recommendations.
• Recognized Sommelier certification (e.g., WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, AIS, or equivalent).
• Understand the supplier chain and ordering.

Manage the Wine Program

• Oversee the organization and maintenance of the wine cellar and wine list.
• Ensure proper storage conditions, stock rotation (FIFO), and optimal serving temperatures.
• Monitor inventory, conduct regular stock counts, manage purchasing, and collaborate with suppliers to maintain availability while controlling costs and minimizing waste.

Contribute to Business Performance

• Support the overall Food & Beverage operation whenever required.
• Contribute to achieving departmental revenue and profitability objectives through effective wine management and operational excellence.
