talabat in Dubai is seeking a software engineer to own end-to-end features within a cross-functional team (engineering, product, data). You will design, write and ship software that solves real business problems in small batches, following XP, TDD, pair programming and simple design.

You will understand the scalability of services, contribute to the SDLC, and push for continuous improvement, empathy with users, and smarter ways of working.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in an XP environment (TDD, Pair Programming, Simple Design, Continuous Refactoring).
• Proficiency with .NET, Golang and C# is expected.
• Experience with automated end-to-end testing and distributed systems architectures.

About the team

talabat’s DMart network spans 860+ dark stores and 31 distribution centres across eight MENA markets. We are launching a new domain out of our Dubai Global Tech Hub to bring intelligence to how that network operates: predicting demand, optimising stock movement, and catching problems before they surface.

Job Description

The systems that make that happen are yours to own. You will be embedded in a cross-functional team (engineering, product, data) working on this domain end-to-end: discovery, design, delivery, and what happens after it ships.

Alongside your cross-functional team (engineering, product, data), participate in continuous discovery of your customer/business needs/desires/problems to drive desired outcomes.

Design, write and release software as a solution to an end-to-end problem in your business domain and deliver value in small batches in accordance with our engineering standards.

Understand scalability & complexity of your services and own & innovate the entire SDLC.

Support optimization of your team’s practices to develop it into a self-organized continuously improving unit.

Critically question and simplify our tech org systems/processes and solutions.

Note: On top of very good technical skills, this role requires someone willing to assume end-to-end ownership of a specific area/initiative and thrives on empathizing with their user pains/desires/needs. You are keen to explore alternative ways of working that optimize for co-creation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

3+ years of software engineering experience, preferably within Extreme Programming environment (TDD, Pair Programming, Simple Design, and Continuous Refactoring) with predominant languages being .NET, Golang, and C#

Experience in testing with focus on automated end to end quality

Experience in distributed Systems Architecture (Microservices, Event-Driven, and RESTful Services)

Experience working with relational and nonrelational databases

Exposed to cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)

Experience building, maintaining and improving with Trunk Based Development and Continuous Delivery
