Job summary

talabat, part of Delivery Hero, is building a new domain from our Dubai Global Tech Hub to bring intelligence to how our distribution network operates: predicting demand, optimizing stock movement, and catching problems before they surface.

As a software engineer, you will collaborate with product and data teams to design, write and release software solving end-to-end problems in our business domain, delivering value in small batches while upholding engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Foundational software engineering knowledge with some development experience in .NET, Go, or C#.
• Experience with automated end-to-end testing.
• Understanding of distributed systems (Microservices, Event-Driven, REST).
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases and cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.

• Participate in continuous discovery of customer/business needs to drive outcomes.

• Understand scalability and complexity of services.

About the team

talabat’s DMart network spans 860+ dark stores and 31 distribution centres across eight MENA markets. We are launching a new domain out of our Dubai Global Tech Hub to bring intelligence to how that network operates: predicting demand, optimising stock movement, and catching problems before they surface.

Role summary

• Alongside other engineers and members of your team (product, data), participate in continuous discovery of your customer/business needs/desires/problems to drive desired outcomes
• With guidance from other engineers, design, write and release software as a solution to an end-to-end problem in your business domain and deliver value in small batches in accordance with our engineering standards
• Understand scalability & complexity of your services
• Participate in optimization of your team’s practices to develop it into a self-organized, continuously improving unit
• Seek mentorship to become a product engineer capable of solving a business problem, end-to-end

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Good knowledge of foundational software engineering with some software development experience, preferably with .NET, Golang or C# programming languages
• Exposed to testing with focus on automated end to end quality
• Understands basics of Distributed Systems Architecture (Microservices, Event-Driven, and RESTful Services)
• Understands basics of relational and nonrelational databases as well as cloud platforms (e.g.AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other related technical field
