Job summary

talabat in Dubai is seeking a software engineer to join a cross-functional team in our Global Tech Hub. You will own end-to-end delivery from discovery to deployment, collaborating with product, data and operations to move fast with quality.

We value 3+ years of software engineering, with strong skills in .NET, Golang or C#, and cloud familiarity. Lean, agile practices, TDD and continuous delivery drive reliable, scalable software for our growing Q-commerce network.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with .NET, Golang or C#.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Strong understanding of lean, agile values and practices.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD.

About the team

talabat’s DMart network spans 860+ dark stores and 31 distribution centres across eight MENA markets. We are launching a new domain out of our Dubai Global Tech Hub to bring intelligence to how that network operates: predicting demand, optimising stock movement, and catching problems before they surface.

• The systems that make that happen are yours to own. You will be embedded in a cross-functional team (engineering, product, data) working on this domain end-to-end: discovery, design, delivery, and what happens after it ships.

• Alongside your cross-functional team (engineering, product, data), participate in continuous discovery of your customer/business needs/desires/problems to drive desired outcomes.

• Design, write and release software as a solution to an end-to-end problem in your business domain and deliver value in small batches in accordance with our engineering standards.

• Understand scalability & complexity of your services and own & innovate the entire SDLC.

• Support optimization of your team’s practices to develop it into a self-organized continuously improving unit.

• Critically question and simplify our tech org systems/processes and solutions.

On top of very good technical skills, this role requires someone willing to assume end-to-end ownership of a specific area/initiative and thrives on empathizing with their user pains/desires/needs. You are keen to explore alternative ways of working that optimize for co-creation and continuous improvement.

• 3+ years of software engineering experience, preferably within Extreme Programming environment (TDD, Pair Programming, Simple Design, and Continuous Refactoring) with predominant languages being .NET, Golang, and C#

• Experience in testing with focus on automated end to end quality

• Experience in distributed Systems Architecture (Microservices, Event-Driven, and RESTful Services)

• Experience working with relational and nonrelational databases

• Exposed to cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)

• Experience building, maintaining and improving with Trunk Based Development and Continuous Delivery
