Job summary

talabat is seeking a software engineer to own end-to-end domains within a cross-functional team. You will design, implement, and deliver software addressing real business needs, while continuously improving team practices and SDLC efficiency.

A strong emphasis on lean/ agile values and high-quality automated testing is required. You will work with .NET, Golang, and C#, focusing on scalable architectures (microservices, event-driven, REST).

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in Extreme Programming (TDD, Pair Programming, Simple Design, Continuous Refactoring) with .NET, Golang, C#.
• Experience in testing with focus on automated end-to-end quality.
• Experience in distributed Systems Architecture (Microservices, Event-Driven, RESTful Services).
• Experience working with relational and nonrelational databases.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Experience building, maintaining and improving with Trunk Based Development and Continuous Delivery.
• Understanding of lean/agile values & principles and associated practices.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

About the opportunity

• The systems that make that happen are yours to own. You will be embedded in a cross-functional team (engineering, product, data) working on this domain end-to-end: discovery, design, delivery, and what happens after it ships.

• Alongside your cross-functional team (engineering, product, data), participate in continuous discovery of your customer/business needs/desires/problems to drive desired outcomes.

• Design, write and release software as a solution to an end-to-end problem in your business domain and deliver value in small batches in accordance with our engineering standards.

• Understand scalability & complexity of your services and own & innovate the entire SDLC.

• Support optimization of your team’s practices to develop it into a self-organized continuously improving unit.

• Critically question and simplify our tech org systems/processes and solutions.

Note: On top of very good technical skills, this role requires someone willing to assume end-to-end ownership of a specific area/initiative and thrives on empathizing with their user pains/desires/needs. You are keen to explore alternative ways of working that optimize for co-creation and continuous improvement.

What you need to be successful

About the team

talabat's DMart network spans 860+ dark stores and 31 distribution centres across eight MENA markets. We are launching a new domain out of our Dubai Global Tech Hub to bring intelligence to how that network operates: predicting demand, optimising stock movement, and catching problems before they surface.
