Job summary

ATRIBS METSCON Group is seeking an experienced backend engineer in the UAE to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot. The role emphasizes secure, scalable banking applications, with deployments on Microsoft Azure and container platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend development with 3+ years building Spring Boot microservices.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise banking, fintech, payments, or digital banking solutions.
• Strong understanding of banking integration patterns and API Gateways (Kong, Layer7).
• Experience in regulated environments with security, audit, and compliance requirements.
• Experience building highly available, scalable systems for mission-critical journeys.
• Understanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps, cloud-native development, and containerized deployments.
• Experience with Kafka, IBM MQ, Rabbit MQ or other messaging technologies.
• Knowledge of OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Istio Service Mesh, and orchestration platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade backend services, APIs, and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build secure, scalable banking applications supporting digital channels and integration platforms.
• Develop RESTful APIs and API lifecycle management with OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Deploy and support apps on Microsoft Azure using cloud-native services and containers.
• Collaborate with architects, DevOps, security, and product squads to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Implement OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, API security, encryption, and secure coding standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues, optimize performance, and support CI/CD pipelines.

KeyResponsibilities *

Mainduties and day-to-day tasks expected from the resource

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade backend services,APIs, and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build secure, scalable, resilient, and high-performance bankingapplications supporting digital channels, mobile banking, internet banking,corporate banking, and integration platforms.
• Develop RESTful APIs and event-driven services while adheringto enterprise API standards and governance frameworks.
• Deploy and support applications on Microsoft Azure usingcloud-native services and container platforms.
• Collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, security teams,and product squads to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Implement OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, API security,encryption, and secure coding standards.

Required Skills*

Primarytechnical and functional skills

• Strong experience in Java 17+, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud,Spring Security, and Microservices Architecture.
• Hands-on experience in designing and developing REST APIs,OpenAPI/Swagger specifications, and API lifecycle management.
• Strong knowledge of API security including OAuth 2.0, OpenIDConnect (OIDC), JWT, mTLS, and certificate management.
• Experience with Azure services including Azure KubernetesService (AKS), Azure App Services, Azure Key Vault, Azure Storage,Application Insights, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as Oracle,PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Strong understanding of design patterns, distributed systems,resilience patterns, and fault tolerance mechanisms.
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, and secure SDLC practices.
