Job summary

Huhtamaki Flexible Packaging Middle East LLC is seeking a Slitting Operator to set up and run slitting machines, producing rolls to customer specs. You will monitor quality, perform routine maintenance, and ensure a clean, safe work area in a fast-paced production environment.

You will collaborate with colleagues to meet production targets, follow safety policies, and contribute to waste reduction and efficiency improvements across the line.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Position Summary

The Slitting Operator is responsible for setting up and operating slitting machines to slit rolls of packaging material to specific widths according to customer specifications. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain the slitting machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Set up slitting machines according to job specifications as per JSS, Sales order, and production schedules. Operate slitting equipment efficiently and safely. Monitor the slitting process to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Quality Control: Inspect the finished rolls for defects and ensure they meet quality standards as per customer requirement. Measure slit rolls to ensure they match specified widths and lengths And Outer dimensions. Remove the defected material from Previous process identified through Flagging. Maintain accurate records of production output in Logbook and Oracle. Maintain the 5S+S Standard on Slitting machines. Fulfill the cleaning checklist before starting job. Do the Line clearance after completing the job. Identify the Recyclable & Non-Recyclable wastage with proper sticker with details.
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on slitting machines to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues. Report major mechanical failures to maintenance personnel.
• Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Comply with company policies and industry regulations. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required as per Huhtamaki Safety Policy.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth production flow. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments as needed.
• Communication: production managers, and other team members to ensure smooth production flow. Report any significant issues, delays, or quality concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Continuous Improvement: opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancements. Suggest ways to optimize print quality, reduce waste, and streamline production processes.
• Adherence to Safety and Compliance Standards Monitoring and Controlling Equipment via Autonomous Management (improve reliability)
• Data Collection and Analysis (collecting data on production and supporting on Root Cause Analysis)
