Job summary

Al Bardi Paper Mill is seeking a dedicated Equipment Operator to manage the paper machine operations, adhere to SOPs, and ensure consistent quality while achieving line targets.

You will monitor performance, adjust calibrations under supervision, handle routine troubleshooting, document production data, and collaborate with maintenance and safety teams to keep downtime to a minimum and maintain a clean, safe workplace.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in paper/tissue manufacturing.
• Knowledge of operating and safety procedures and standards.
• Understanding of equipment and processes in own area.

Responsibilities

• Operate paper machine per SOP and safety rules to meet production targets.
• Monitor system performance and calibrate as directed to ensure efficient throughput.
• Troubleshoot routine defects and minimize downtime, escalating serious malfunctions when needed.
• Record production data and print reports at end of shift using wrapping software.
• Report availability of raw materials to supervisor to avoid production interruptions.
• Perform minor maintenance to optimise efficiency and prolong asset life.
• Keep the workplace clean and in full compliance with health and safety procedures.

Job description

What You'll do :

• Equipment Operation: Exercises operational responsibility for a paper machine accordance with standard operating procedures and approved safety procedures to ensure continuous and efficient operations and quality standards and meeting of line production targets.


• System Performance: Monitors system performance and, under the direction of paper machine supervisor, manipulates calibrations and settings to ensure synchronisation of unit stages, efficient throughput and minimal down time.


• Troubleshooting: Troubleshoots routine defects detected in rolls received from previous unit (combiner) and during the process through recalibration of setting in order to keep production down time to a minimum and minimizing losses escalates the more serious malfunctions to combiner supervisor.


• Reporting & Documentation: Operating the wrapping software to ensure the data entry according to the production order, printing the report by the end of the shift.


• Raw Materials: Report availability of raw materials consumables against the production plan to his supervisor in order that shortages do not interrupt production.


• Maintenance: Report malfunctions and undertakes minor maintenance activities in order optimise operating efficiency and prolong asset life and value.


• Safety & Housekeeping: Ensures that the workplace is kept in a clean state and that all work is carried out in full compliance with approved occupational. Health and safety procedures.
