We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer to supervise and coordinate day-to-day site execution activities for structural steel, steel erection, fabrication, installation, PEB, metal works, façade, aluminium, cladding, and construction projects.
The Site Engineer will be responsible for site execution, installation, erection, work-front planning, manpower coordination, drawing interpretation, quantity tracking, quality coordination, inspections, progress monitoring, subcontractor coordination, and site reporting. The ideal candidate should be capable of coordinating activities from mobilization and site preparation through installation, inspection, completion, snagging, and handover.
Supervise and coordinate daily site execution, construction, installation, and erection activities.
Manage site activities in accordance with approved drawings, IFC drawings, shop drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, project schedules, and contractual requirements.
Coordinate structural steel erection and installation activities including columns, beams, rafters, bracing, trusses, platforms, stairs, handrails, ladders, canopies, and secondary steel.
Supervise steel fabrication, delivery, lifting, erection, alignment, bolting, welding, and installation activities.
Coordinate with Project Engineers, Planning Engineers, QA/QC Engineers, HSE Officers, subcontractors, fabricators, surveyors, consultants, and client representatives.
Review IFC drawings, structural drawings, fabrication drawings, erection drawings, shop drawings, BOQs, specifications, and construction details.
Ensure site execution follows the latest approved-for-construction drawings and revisions.
Check dimensions, levels, elevations, grid lines, anchor bolt locations, connection details, and installation tolerances.
Coordinate surveying, setting out, leveling, alignment, positioning, and dimensional verification.
Monitor steel erection sequence and ensure materials are installed according to approved erection methodology.
Coordinate crane lifting, rigging, access equipment, MEWP, scaffolding, lifting plans, and material handling activities with relevant teams.
Monitor bolt tightening, torqueing, welding, connection installation, alignment, plumbness, leveling, and structural stability.
Coordinate site welding, bolting, mechanical fixing, chemical anchoring, grouting, and connection works.
Monitor installation of PEB structures, roof systems, wall panels, cladding, flashing, gutters, louvers, canopies, skylights, and architectural metalwork where applicable.
Coordinate façade, aluminium, cladding, stainless steel, handrail, railing, staircase, canopy, and miscellaneous metalwork installation.
Prepare and maintain daily site reports, progress reports, manpower reports, material reports, equipment reports, and site activity records.
Track planned versus actual site progress and report delays, constraints, and productivity issues.
Coordinate with Planning Engineers regarding daily targets, weekly look-ahead plans, work-front availability, project milestones, and recovery plans.
Monitor manpower productivity, work quantities, installation rates, and daily output.
Allocate manpower and coordinate site crews, foremen, technicians, welders, riggers, helpers, operators, and subcontractors.
Ensure adequate materials, tools, equipment, lifting equipment, consumables, and access are available before commencing activities.
Coordinate with Stores and Logistics regarding material delivery, unloading, storage, material identification, and site availability.
Verify delivered materials against delivery notes, material specifications, approved submittals, drawings, and BOQ requirements.
Coordinate material inspections and ensure proper storage and protection of materials at site.
Raise and follow up MIR - Material Inspection Request and coordinate material inspection and approval.
Prepare and coordinate WIR - Work Inspection Request for completed installation and construction activities.
Coordinate WMR - Work/Material Inspection Reports and inspection documentation as required.
Coordinate with QA/QC for ITP, inspection points, hold points, witness points, testing, NCRs, punch lists, and quality records.
Ensure completed works comply with approved method statements, project specifications, drawings, standards, and quality requirements.
Identify and report non-conformities, defects, installation issues, rework requirements, and quality concerns.
Coordinate NCR closure, corrective actions, snagging, punch list clearance, and final inspection.
Coordinate with consultants and client representatives for site inspections, approvals, technical clarifications, and work acceptance.
Attend site coordination meetings, progress meetings, toolbox meetings, and technical meetings.
Coordinate with HSE teams to ensure compliance with site safety procedures, PTW, lifting operations, work-at-height requirements, hot work, confined space requirements, and safe working practices.
Ensure site activities are executed safely and in accordance with approved Risk Assessments, Method Statements, JSA/JHA, Lifting Plans, and Permit-to-Work procedures.
Monitor work-front readiness and identify constraints related to drawings, materials, access, manpower, equipment, permits, civil readiness, and preceding activities.
Coordinate interfaces between civil works, structural steel, mechanical works, MEP, façade, architectural works, and other trades.
Monitor subcontractor activities and ensure compliance with project schedule, drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and approved methodology.
Verify subcontractor quantities and completed works for progress measurement and site valuation.
Maintain records of installed quantities, completed quantities, balance quantities, material consumption, and site progress.
Assist the Project Engineer and Quantity Surveyor with BOQ quantity tracking, measurement, variations, additional works, and site quantities.
Identify variations, additional works, scope changes, site instructions, and design changes and communicate them to the Project Manager/Commercial Team.
Assist in preparation of as-built information, redline drawings, handover documentation, inspection records, and completion dossiers.
Coordinate testing, commissioning support, snagging, de-snagging, final inspection, and project handover.
Ensure work areas are properly completed, cleaned, inspected, and released for subsequent activities.
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
3-7 years of experience as a Site Engineer in construction, structural steel, steel erection, PEB, metal fabrication, façade, or related projects.
Strong hands-on experience in steel structure erection, installation, fabrication coordination, and site execution.
Experience interpreting IFC drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, erection drawings, BOQs, specifications, and method statements.
Practical knowledge of MIR, WIR, WMR, ITP, NCR, inspections, testing, and consultant/client approvals.
Experience coordinating subcontractors, site teams, consultants, clients, QA/QC, HSE, planning, procurement, and project management teams.
Strong knowledge of site execution, manpower coordination, material planning, progress monitoring, productivity, and construction sequencing.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and ability to read structural and architectural drawings.
Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Project, Primavera P6 coordination, and site reporting is preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and manage multiple site activities simultaneously.
