Job summary

Al Tayer Group in Dubai seeks a site-based Civil Engineer to develop and implement the project program on site in a cost-effective, organized manner, aligned with approved designs, quality standards and the schedule.

The role involves obtaining drawings, assessing material and manpower needs, coordinating with Purchase, monitoring progress, supervising the workforce, liaising with Site Management, performing quality checks and coordinating reports for project closure.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 2–3 years experience in the interior contracting / construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Obtain project drawings, assess material and manpower requirements and hand over to Purchase.
• Monitor progress against the project plan and report delays for corrective action.
• Organize and manage the workforce, supervise the site, keep the Manager updated on progress and address technical/engineering issues.
• Regularly liaise with Site Management on adherence to the project program and highlight discrepancies.
• Conduct quality checks and complete quality check lists with QC Inspector to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Coordinate site demobilization on project completion and prepare applicable reports.
• Execute issued snag lists from consultants, oversee sub-contractors and monitor all jobs for timely completion.
• Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and develop for higher roles.

Responsibilities

Functional Roles and Responsibilities

• Obtain the drawings of the project, assess the material and manpower requirement accurately and hand over the material requirement to the Purchase Department to enable procurement, after approval
• Monitor project progress against the project plan and report discrepancies /delays for taking corrective action
• Organize and manage the workforce, supervise the site, keep the Manager updated on the progress of the project and attend to all technical and engineering problems, additional manpower requirements, drawing changes, etc. in an effective and timely manner
• Regularly liaise with Site Management on adherence to project program and highlight discrepancies if any
• Conduct quality checks and complete quality check lists, with the QC Inspector, on works carried out to ensure that the products meet specifications
• Coordinate site demobilization on project completion and prepare applicable reports
• Execute issued snag lists from consultants, oversee sub-contractors for various works, and monitor all jobs for timely completion and compliance

People Management Roles and Responsibilities

• Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work, and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher level roles
