Role Context

This position plays a central role in maintaining continuity across production, crude oil storage, metering, export, commissioning, and plant isolation activities. The Shift Supervisor coordinates operational teams, monitors plant conditions, supports maintenance readiness, and ensures that process facilities remain within approved operating and HSE parameters. The role also contributes to workforce competency, product quality, inventory control, shipping readiness, emergency response, and continuous improvement across production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise process plant, storage, and export activities during assigned shifts to achieve approved oil production and gas supply requirements.
• Coordinate crude oil receipt, storage, and export operations using pumps, turbine meters, provers, and associated process systems.
• Support verification of crude oil production and export meters in coordination with relevant regulatory representatives.
• Ensure shipping programmes are executed on schedule and that storage and export systems are available for planned movements.
• Supervise commissioning and decommissioning of tanks associated with maintenance, major overhaul, desludging, and operational requirements.
• Prepare, review, and implement operating and commissioning procedures for process plants and related facilities.
• Develop plant and equipment isolation programmes before maintenance, overhaul, repair, or modification activities.
• Confirm that isolated equipment is gas-free and in a safe condition before maintenance personnel begin work.
• Monitor operating parameters, review plant records, and troubleshoot units to maintain stable and optimum operating performance.
• Ensure operating logbooks and plant-condition records are maintained accurately and remain available for shift and management review.
• Coordinate with laboratory personnel for product and export sample testing to support required quality standards.
• Monitor chemicals and consumables used across process, storage, and export operations and maintain stock at appropriate operating levels.
• Review competency information through the applicable IDP system and identify development requirements for process personnel.
• Plan, supervise, and coordinate activities of assigned employees to meet operational and section objectives.
• Coach and develop team members in operating procedures, safety requirements, troubleshooting, and job-specific competencies.
• Provide operational input into departmental or section budgets, approved work plans, and cost-control activities.
• Investigate significant operating or expenditure variances and highlight findings to support effective performance management.
• Implement approved policies, procedures, systems, standards, and work practices in accordance with company requirements and applicable international standards.
• Support development and implementation of operational tools and techniques that improve process reliability, productivity, and efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to enhance internal workflows and apply recognized industry practices to operational challenges.
• Comply with applicable health, safety, environmental, sustainability, and legal requirements.
• Participate in emergency response activities as a designated team member when required.
• Contribute information for management information systems, operational reports, and progress reporting.
• Maintain effective working relationships with line management, colleagues, technical departments, contractors, consultants, service providers, and relevant government entities.
