Role Context
The Operations Supervisor - Field Facilities provides frontline operational leadership across production clusters, Remote Degassing Stations, Remote Manifold Stations, Gas Compression Stations, wellhead facilities, and injection systems. The position ensures day‑to‑day field activities are performed safely while coordinating maintenance, drilling interfaces, material availability, equipment condition, and production requirements. The role is critical to maintaining continuous field availability by balancing maintenance execution with oil, gas, water, and CO2 injection targets. Effective supervision helps reduce unplanned interruptions, maintain equipment integrity, and ensure planned shutdown activities are completed without compromising operational safety or production objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operational activities across assigned production facilities, clusters, remote stations, compression stations, and well locations.
- Coordinate execution of predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities affecting field production and injection facilities.
- Oversee maintenance modifications and major shutdown work while ensuring operational priorities and safety requirements remain protected.
- Monitor equipment associated with oil and gas production, water injection, CO2 injection, and related process systems.
- Coordinate with drilling teams during handover and takeover of well locations and associated operational interfaces.
- Provide suitable rig route information and field coordination required for drilling and well‑related activities.
- Direct assigned personnel and ensure operational tasks are completed in a controlled, efficient, and safe manner.
- Maintain close supervision of field activities to identify operating abnormalities, unsafe conditions, or equipment concerns requiring immediate action.
- Ensure operational manpower is deployed effectively across planned and unplanned field activities.
- Monitor availability of operational materials, stock items, spare parts, and other inventory required for field execution.
- Coordinate timely inspection and delivery of materials required for maintenance and operational support.
- Verify that maintenance work performed on wellheads and associated field equipment meets required quality and technical standards.
- Monitor completion of maintenance activities and confirm equipment is returned to service in an acceptable operating condition.
- Coordinate field requirements between operations, maintenance, drilling, logistics, and other supporting functions.
- Ensure production facilities remain aligned with approved oil and gas operating requirements.
- Monitor injection systems to maintain required water and CO2 injection performance where applicable.
- Support optimization of production levels while respecting operating limits, equipment constraints, and facility integrity requirements.
- Coordinate planned shutdown activities with maintenance and supporting teams to reduce disruption and achieve safe completion.
- Verify readiness of facilities before shutdown, maintenance intervention, restart, or return to normal operations.
- Maintain clear communication with field personnel regarding operating priorities, maintenance status, equipment availability, and production requirements.
- Support troubleshooting of operational and equipment issues affecting plant, clusters, remote stations, or field facilities.
- Promote consistent compliance with operational procedures, field safety requirements, and approved work practices.
- Maintain accurate operational information and provide updates on production status, maintenance progress, equipment issues, and field constraints.
Ideal Profile
- Diploma or Bachelor 's degree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience.
- At least 4 years of experience within the oil and gas industry.
- Practical experience supervising production facilities, wellhead operations, remote field stations, or comparable upstream assets.
- Strong understanding of oil and gas production systems and associated field operations.
- Familiarity with water injection, CO2 injection, gas compression, and production support facilities.
- Experience coordinating predictive, preventive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance activities.
- Ability to supervise field personnel while maintaining safe and efficient operational performance.
- Understanding of drilling and operations interfaces, including well location handover and takeover activities.
- Experience monitoring material availability, operating inventory, and maintenance support requirements.
- Ability to assess the quality of field maintenance and identify equipment conditions requiring corrective attention.
