Job summary

Ali & Sons Marine Engineering Factory (ASMEF) is seeking an automotive technician to service, maintain, and repair MG vehicles to manufacturer standards. You will work in a structured workshop, perform PDI, diagnostics, and minor repairs, and maintain safety and quality throughout every job.

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience and a High Diploma in Mechanics are required, with Brand Advanced Technician Certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of relevant automotive technician experience.
• Experience with servicing, repairs, PDI and basic diagnostics preferred.
• Certification as Brand Advanced Technician required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out minor periodic service and maintenance per MG guidelines and SOPs.
• Repair or replace worn components according to job orders.
• Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI).
• Use VDS scanning tools to read and clear vehicle faults.
• Coordinate with Workshop Controller and Parts Advisor for status and parts.

Job Description

• Carry out minor periodic service and maintenance in line with MG Guidelines and IEM SOPs.
• Repair or replace worn and faulty components according to job orders.
• Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI).
• Use VDS scanning tools to read and clear vehicle faults.
• Assist Repair and Diagnostic Technicians when required.
• Continuously develop technical knowledge through formal training and technical learning.
• Maintain and manage standard technician tools and equipment.
• Provide clear and accurate job completion notes, including any safety-related observations.
• Clock in and out of assigned job orders according to company procedures.
• Coordinate with the Workshop Controller regarding vehicle status and with the Parts Advisor to obtain required parts.
• Follow instructions from supervisors in accordance with company SOPs.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Maintain and protect company assets.
• Follow all Health, Safety and QHSE procedures.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Role Purpose

To service, maintain, and repair MG vehicles while ensuring high-quality workmanship, vehicle safety, and optimal vehicle performance in accordance with MG manufacturer standards and Ali & Sons procedures.

What Were Looking For:

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a similar automotive technician role.
• Experience with vehicle servicing, repairs, PDI, and basic diagnostics is preferred.

Education:

• High Diploma in Mechanics or a related technical qualification.

Certification:

• Brand Advanced Technician Qualification Certification is required.

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of routine vehicle servicing and maintenance.
• Ability to repair and replace faulty or worn components.
• Experience with vehicle inspection and PDI procedures.
• Familiarity with automotive diagnostic/scanning tools, particularly VDS.
• Understanding of manufacturer repair procedures and SOPs.
• Ability to identify and report safety-related technical issues.
