Job summary

YOSH HOSPITALITY LLC OPC in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Warehouse Assistant to manage day-to-day warehouse operations, ensure accurate receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch. You will coordinate daily activities, supervise Warehouse Assistants, maintain records, and uphold safety, hygiene and quality standards while supporting continuous improvement across the supply chain.

• Previous experience as a Senior Warehouse Assistant or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics processes.
• Experience using warehouse management systems and stock control tools.
• Experience checking delivery documentation and investigating discrepancies.
• Forklift certification is an advantage where relevant.
• Knowledge of safe manual handling and warehouse safety procedures.
• Ability to organise workloads, meet deadlines, and stay productive.
• Good communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• High accuracy and attention to detail in stock handling and records.
• Physically able to stand, walk, lift and move goods for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring goods are received, stored, picked, packed and dispatched accurately, safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate and prioritize daily warehouse activities according to requirements and schedules.
• Receive stock, check deliveries against orders, report shortages or damage promptly.
• Pick, check, pack, label and prepare customer orders and internal stock movements on time.
• Load/unload vehicles safely using appropriate equipment and trained personnel.
• Assist with stock counts, cycle counts, and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and delivery documentation.
• Store goods correctly and follow stock rotation and handling requirements.
• Support training and guidance of Warehouse Assistants and colleagues as needed.
• Escalate complex issues to the manager and help resolve stock concerns.
• Monitor housekeeping and ensure clean, organized storage areas and workstations.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely and report maintenance needs promptly.
• Ensure all goods comply with hygiene, quality and safety standards.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operation of the warehouse ensuring goods are received stored picked packed and dispatched accurately safely and efficiently
• Coordinate and prioritise daily warehouse activities in accordance with operational requirements customer orders delivery schedules and company procedures
• Receive incoming stock check deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes and report shortages discrepancies damage or quality issues promptly
• Pick check pack label and prepare customer orders and internal stock movements accurately and within required timeframes
• Load and unload vehicles safely using appropriate manual handling techniques pallet trucks trolleys forklifts or other warehouse equipment where trained and authorised
• Assist with stock control activities including stock counts cycle counts location checks inventory adjustments and investigation of stock discrepancies
• Maintain accurate warehouse records computerised inventory transactions delivery documentation dispatch paperwork and other operational records
• Store goods correctly using warehouse management systems stock rotation principles location procedures and relevant product handling requirements
• Support the training guidance and day-to-day coordination of Warehouse Assistants and other colleagues when required
• Act as a senior point of contact for operational queries escalating complex issues delays stock concerns equipment faults or customer service matters to the appropriate manager
• Monitor warehouse housekeeping standards and maintain clean organised secure and clearly labelled storage areas loading bays aisles and workstations
• Operate warehouse equipment safely and complete routine checks reporting defects damage maintenance requirements or unsafe conditions without delay
• Ensure all goods are handled stored packaged and transported in accordance with company procedures and relevant product hygiene and quality requirements
• Follow health and safety manual handling fire safety security accident reporting risk assessment and personal protective equipment PPE procedures
• Support investigations into operational errors damaged goods missing stock delivery discrepancies and process failures helping to implement suitable corrective actions
• Work closely with warehouse transport purchasing customer service and management teams to maintain an efficient end-to-end supply chain operation
• Assist with warehouse projects process improvements audits seasonal demand stocktaking exercises and other operational requirements as directed
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Direct Manager

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Senior Warehouse Assistant Warehouse Operative Warehouse Coordinator Stock Controller Logistics Assistant or in a similar warehouse or distribution role
• Good understanding of warehouse operations goods-in order picking packing dispatch stock control inventory management and general logistics processes
• Experience using warehouse management systems inventory systems barcode scanners handheld terminals or other computerised stock control systems
• Experience checking delivery documentation processing stock movements maintaining accurate records and investigating inventory discrepancies
• Current forklift truck or other material handling equipment certification is an advantage where relevant to the warehouse operation
• Knowledge of safe manual handling practices warehouse health and safety procedures stock rotation workplace security and equipment safety requirements
• Ability to organise and prioritise workloads meet deadlines work accurately under pressure and maintain productivity during busy operational periods
• Ability to provide clear instructions support colleagues share knowledge and contribute positively to the effective running of the warehouse
• Good communication problem-solving decision-making organisational numeracy and basic computer skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling stock processing orders checking documentation and recording inventory information
• Physically able to stand walk bend reach lift carry push and pull goods and equipment for extended periods in accordance with safe manual handling procedures
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively follow instructions take responsibility and escalat issue appropriately
