Job summary

EDGE is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for Landing Gear Systems to own the UAV landing gear across the development lifecycle. You'll define requirements, architecture, and interfaces, and work with multidisciplinary teams and suppliers to deliver safe, certifiable solutions.

Role offers exposure to UAV development, system safety activities (FHA, FMEA, PSSA) and lifecycle verification, with a focus on integration and testing in aerospace environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering (Required).
• 10+ years in aerospace systems engineering; 8+ years in landing gear design/integration.
• Experience on UAV/aircraft/rotorcraft programs with mechanical systems.
• Proven safety-critical system design experience.
• Experience with requirements definition, system design, integration, verification, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Define landing gear system requirements and architecture aligned with airframe design and mission needs.
• Develop specs for landing gear components (shock absorbers, struts, actuators, wheels, retraction).
• Lead interfaces between landing gear and structural, avionics, hydraulics; manage ICDs.
• Coordinate with suppliers; ensure verification, validation, and integration activities.
