Job summary

EDGE is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead design, development, integration, and verification of UAV Ground Control Station software. You will focus on reliable, secure, high‑performance systems for mission planning, C2, flight monitoring, telemetry visualization, and payload control.

You will provide technical leadership in software architecture, HMI/UI development, and automated testing while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in CS, software eng, aerospace or related.
• Strong C/C++ and real-time/embedded software background.
• Experience with UAV GCS, mission planning, telemetry, and UI for operator use.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, integration, and testing of UAV GCS software.
• Develop mission planning, C2, telemetry visualization, and situational awareness features.
• Create intuitive HMI/UI for mission ops and real-time monitoring.
• Integrate autopilots, navigation, sensors, payloads, and comms with GCS.
• Define robust software architecture and scalable interfaces.
• Lead reviews, estimations, and optimization of development processes.
• Develop automated tests including unit, integration, system, and HIL.
• Ensure cybersecurity hardening and secure communications.
