Job summary

Tiger Steel Eng.LLC. in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a senior structural detailer to independently check Tekla models and related drawings for steel/PEB projects, ensuring accuracy, constructability and compliance before release.

The candidate should have 10+ years in structural detailing, with at least 5 years of independent Tekla checking, a Civil/Structural degree or ITI Draughtsman, and strong mentoring and coordination abilities to guide junior staff and meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in structural steel detailing.
• At least 5 years independent Tekla model/checking.
• Diploma/degree in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Eng or ITI Draughtsman.
• Strong knowledge of GA, fabrication, erection drawings, and connections.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, project specs, and RFIs before checking.
• Check model geometry, grids, levels, member sizes, material grades, orientation and interfaces.
• Verify connections, bolts, welds, plates, and base plates against approved info.
• Check GA, erection, assembly, fabrication drawings for dimensions, marks and codes.
• Assess fabrication and erection practicality and potential clashes.
• Record checking comments, coordinate corrections, and close via back-checking.
• Raise RFIs for discrepancies and refer changes to the design engineer.
• Maintain checking records and sign-off per release procedure.
